Iberá Marshlands and Iguazú Falls

A 7-day trip ideal for adventurers, nature lovers and curious local culture. On this trip you will get to know one of the seven natural wonders: the Iguazu Falls, a panorama of the Argentine side and the Brazilian side. You will also enjoy 4 days in the wonderful Iberá Marshlands, the second largest wetland in the world, famous for its diversity of fauna and vegetation.

Itinerary

Day 1: Day 1: From Buenos Aires to the Iberá Marshlands

Stop At: Esteros de Ibera, Estancia San Juan Poriahu, Corrientes Argentina
In the morning, pick up at the hotel for a private transfer to Buenos Aires domestic airport to catch a direct flight to Posadas city (2hs approx.), in the Northeast of Argentina. On arrival, you will meet the guide and later take an air taxi to the Estancia Rincón del Socorro on the Iberá Marshlands (1 hour approx.)
Note: another option is to take a 4x4 vehicle from Posadas’s airport to the Estancia. It could take between 5 and 7 hours depending on the weather conditions, as it´s a gravel road.
On arrival, you will be meet by the local hosts who will explain more about the The Conservation Land Trust organization. It was founded in 2001 by conservation philanthropist Douglas Tompkins to create a 74,130-acre nature reserve. With the acquisition of Socorro and other fields within Ibera, CLT’s objectives were both simple and ambitious: to create Argentina’s largest nature park, restore locally extirpated wildlife species, and promote an economy based on ecotourism. They have initiated the largest rewilding program in the Americas: giant anteaters, pampas deer, tapirs, and collared peccaries have been released.
Lunch will be prepared with organic vegetables from the orchard, you will taste typical recipes from Corrientes provinces along with Argentinean and international dishes.
For the rest of the day, depending on the schedule, you might participate on any of the activities. Dinner included.

Day 2: Day 2: Iberá Marshlands

Stop At: Esteros de Ibera, Estancia San Juan Poriahu, Corrientes Argentina
Many activities can be done in Rincon del Socorro, but the agenda of activities of the day is programmed according to the opportunities of the time and of the climate. On your arrival, the guide will explain you the schedule and options for next day. Activities included are:
Hiking for wildlife watching, horseback riding, boat trip and night safari (all of them subject to weather conditions)
Also, in the nearby Uguay spot you can share mates and fried dough with the locals, learn about their traditional way of life, and observe local crafts and fabrics. All meals are included for this day.

Day 3: Day 3: Iberá Marshlands

Day 4: Day 4: Iberá Marshlands to Posadas and Iguazú

Stop At: Iguazu Falls, Iguazu National Park 3370 Argentina
Today you will take the air taxi back to Posadas Airport (1 hour) where you will meet our guide (English speaking) for a private transfer to Puerto Iguazú (4 to 5 hours approx.) On the way, you will visit the Jesuits Ruins of San Ignacio Miní, declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Arrival during the evening.

Day 5: Day 5: Brazilian side of the falls & Birds Park

Stop At: Iguazu Falls, Foz do Iguacu, State of Parana 85855-750 Brazil
Morning pick-up to set off for a small group excursion of the Brazilian side of the falls. The views from this side are simply breath taking. You will walk along a path parallel to the river for 1.2 km before reaching a bridge that brings you closer to the Devil's Throat. After the visit to the falls, we´ll have a stop on the Parque das Aves, an amazing place for discover the local birds such as toucans and parrots. This excursion includes an English-speaking guide, transfers and entrance fees.

Day 6: Day 6: Iguazu Falls - Argentinean side with Navigation

Stop At: Iguazu Falls, Iguazu National Park 3370 Argentina
Morning pick-up from your hotel to spend the day exploring the world-famous Iguazú Falls. The group guided day trip includes all three sections of the falls: the lower falls accessible via a boardwalk of 1.7 km (be prepared to climb a lot of stairs!); the upper falls with incredible panoramic views along a 1.2 km boardwalk; and The Devil's Throat accessible via a boardwalk 1.1 km long. There will be time for lunch during the tour (not included) and later take the Great Adventure Tour & Navigation: a boat ride including some rapids and then going under the falls (really!), Return to the hotel in the late afternoon. English speaking guide, transfers and entrance fees are included.

Day 7: Day 7: Departure

Stop At: Iguazu Falls, Iguazu National Park 3370 Argentina
Group transfer to Iguazú airport for a flight to Buenos Aires (or you can continue your adventure to the Northwest of Argentina, where you will discover the rich Andean culture)
Note: accommodation for this day it´s not included.
