Tour Buenos Aires as a Porteño

Explore the corners of Buenos Aires by touring the city on foot, in "subte" (subway), "colectivo" (bus) or taxi and experience life as a porteño (the inhabitant of Buenos Aires). In this personalized tour you will see the most emblematic places of the capital, such as the Plaza de Mayo or the San Telmo or La Boca district but you will decide what you are most interested in discovering and our guide will accompany you, telling you about the history of these places that you want to explore.

Coordinate with your guide to meet either in your hotel or somewhere in the city to start the walking tour. The route will be designed with your guide who, according to your interests, will take you to discover the historical and everyday corners of the porteños and take the city’s public transportation. You will feel what the inhabitants of Buenos Aires experience daily in the city and see the local customs first hand.

Near the administrative center of the city, you can visit the mythical Plaza de Mayo, a scene of the most important historical events in Argentine history, including the march of the mothers of Plaza de Mayo against the last military dictatorship, and the speeches of Eva Peron to the "Descamisados”, or “The Shirtless". You can walk to the neighborhood of San Telmo close by, the oldest area in the city, to see its cobblestoned streets and visit the typical antique houses. Around noon you can take a "colectivo" and head for the famous Obelisco on Corrientes Av and enjoy a slice of pizza with "fainá" in one of the many pizzerias on Corrientes Av. Dare to eat it standing at the bar like a porteño!

In the afternoon, take a taxi to the neighborhood of La Boca, the first home of the Italian and Spanish immigrants who arrived in Buenos Aires. You will learn, accompanied by our guide, why all the houses are colored, how tango arose and you will see the Boca Juniors stadium, one of the examples of the Argentine passion for football.

If you would prefer to visit the most modern part of our city, our guide will take you to the neighborhood of Puerto Madero, built on the old abandoned port area where the crème de la crème of porteños now live. Then you can continue to the neighborhood of Recoleta to see the historic mansions of the Argentine aristocracy and visit its famous cemetery to look for the Duarte family vault and the tomb of Eva Peron.
