5-Day Madidi and Pampas Amazon from La Paz

Join this 5-day tour and take a flight from La Paz to Rurrenabaque and overnight. Travel along the Beni and Tuichi Rivers to reach a Sugarcane Community and then your lodge. Visit the Farallon of the Macaws and go sailing on a self-made raft. Return to Rurrenabaque and take 3-hour jeep ride to Santa Rosa where you will sail the beautiful Yacuma River. Enjoy your last morning in nature surrounded by the sounds of animals and then return to Rurrenabaque where you will connect with your flight to La Paz. Your trip will come to an end upon arrival.

Day 1: La Paz Airport Drop-off - Flight to Rurrenabaque

Today you will be picked-up from your accommodation to be transferred to La Paz Airport to catch an early flight to Rurrenabaque, where there will be someone waiting for you to take you to your accommodation for check-in. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure settling in this new climate. Overnight in Rurrenabaque.

Day 2: Boat Trip - Sugarcane Community - Eco-Lodge - Afternoon & Night Walk (B/L/D)

The tour starts at around 09.00, when you will set off on a boat trip along the Beni and Tuichi Rivers for approximately 3 hours. After being shown to your room, have lunch. In the afternoon, take a nature walk along a jungle trail with a guide who will show you a variety of plants used by the local Tacana people. After returning to the lodge, enjoy your evening meal as the nighttime sounds of the jungle come alive and the darkness falls. After eating we can take a night walk to search for nocturnal animals and look for caimans near the river bank using spotlights to reflect off their eyes.

Day 3: Farallon of the Macaws - Self Made Raft Sailing - Optional Activities (B/L/D)

After breakfast you will visit the Farallon of the Macaws, a place for nesting and feeding of guacamayos and parrots. Also you will have the opportunity to build a ‘’callapo’’, raft of the Amazonian tribes, and sail back in it to the lodge, where you’ll have lunch. In the afternoon you will be able to choose among different activities (some activities may depend on availability), like visiting an indigenous family to see their way of life in the middle of the forest, sport fishing of catfish, or sailing to watch the sunset.

Day 4: Jungle to Pampas - Sailing the Yacuma River - Swim with Pink Dolphins  (B/L/D)

Today you will wake up at 6am to have breakfast and return to Rurrenabaque. On arrival, meet with a comfortable jeep and travel for approximately 3 hours to Santa Rosa. Along the way you will have the opportunity to see sloths, ant eaters, birds, and other animals. Around midday you will go on a 15-minute boat ride to “The Turtles” eco-lodge, where you will get settled in and have lunch. In the afternoon go sailing on the Yacuma river, where you get to see and take pictures of lizards, caimans, birds, capibaras, turtles, and much more. Before going back to the lodge, you might be able to swim with the beautiful pink dolphins that live in this heavenly place (depending on season).
