Our tour of Bolivia starts in the colonial city of Sucre, which can be reached via a quick flight from La Paz. We would make convenient arrangements for you to join the rest of us after you have checked into your room.

From Sucre, in the morning we take a four-hour drive to Potosi.
Potosí was founded in 1546 after the discovery of the rich silver deposits in the Cerro Rico Mountains. It soon became one of the wealthiest and largest cities in the Americas. Some of the citys wealth from silver mining was used to build magnificent baroque churches and monasteries. The history of Potosí is still reflected in the narrow streets, colonial mansions and the many churches. Potosi is unsurprisingly on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Salar de Uyuni is the largest salt flat on earth. It was formed as a result of transformations between several prehistoric lakes. Before leaving from Salar to San Pedro de Quemes for a good nights sleep, we visit the salt hotel (no longer in operation) as well as give you great photo opportunities of the salt flats, specifically at a site called Isla Incahuasi Island.

We should be arriving in Uyuni around 6:30pm. Shortly thereafter, we take an overnight bus ride to La Paz, from where you can fly out of the country the following day.

Known for its spectacular scenery, hot springs and flamingos, Laguna Verde is a salt lake home to minerals that render the color seen in the water.
