The challenge is rewarded when you reach the top of Pedra da Gávea, and you will be greeted by the breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean on the south side of the city, its golden sandy beaches, the entire Barra da Tijuca and the west side of Rio. the Sugar Loaf, Corcovado and the Tijuca Forest.

The Pedra da Gávea trail is located within the Carioca Atlantic Forest, in the Tijuca National Park, which means that during the tour there is the possibility of finding wild animals. At the highest season of the year the climate in Rio de Janeiro is hot and humid, so all participants should be well hydrated and carry at least 3 liters of water for the activity.

Itinerary

Pedra da Gávea is the largest block of stone by the sea in the world, named for its resemblance to the gávea, an observation basket on the mast of Portuguese caravels. Known as the emperor's head, the side of the stone opposite the sea, it resembles the shape of a face, so it was called by the Indians "Metaracanga", the decked head.
