Stop At: Avatar Grove, British Columbia Canada

Botanical Beach is a 2-hour drive from Victoria and a 1-hour 30-minute drive from Sooke. The drive will be broken up into a few stops.

The stops will bring you to some spectacular destinations to explore, where you can stretch your legs, enjoy some ocean views, and hopefully be visited by some local seals and bald eagles.

Botanical Beach is a flat 2 km loop in the temperate rainforest with accesses to beaches that contain some of the most colorful tide pools. We will coincide our visit with low tide in hopes to see some critters.

The second part of the day will be at Avatar Grove; an easily accessible old growth forest. This area was protected from clear-cut logging in 2012 by a major campaign launched by the Ancient Forest Alliance.
