Rapanui Origins: Full Day Private Tour is an exploration of the origins of the Rapanui people, the inhabitants of Easter Island. To find out, we visit multiple key archaeological sites including Vinapu, Anakena, Te Pito Kura and Ahu Akivi to get an overview from a scientific, ethnographic, historical and traditional versions of the first human settlement.

Our guides are scholars or local experts with a vast trajectory working in tourism and experience with some of the top companies in Rapa Nui and abroad.

Our slow tours go against the fast-paced group tours to make sure that our Rapanui culture is well represented. We visit the sites during the hours of best light and avoiding (as much as possible) the busy hours, and we take our time on each site to obtain a thorough experience.

Stop At: Ahu Vinapu, Easter Island Chile

Ruins of two important ceremonial centers can be seen in this area. Multiple fallen and broken statues are visible and many pukao as well. The wall of one of the ahu looks similar to some inca and pre-inca stonework which led to speculations about the origin of the first settlers. Lots of peculiar things to be found in the surrounding area.

Stop At: Ahu Te Pito Kura, Easter Island Chile

Te Pito Kura is an egg-shaped magnetic rock that has been the subject of old legends. Next to it there is a large ahu that has only one fallen statue: Moai Paro, a huge moai among the biggest of the whole island.

Stop At: Papa Vaka, Camino Vaitea Anakena, Easter Island Chile

In this site we will see some examples of petroglyphs, all related to the sea and related legends.

Stop At: Anakena Beach, Easter Island Chile

The beach is a well sheltered bay with white sand that surrounds the archaeological sites. Three volcanic hills flank the southern and eastern parts. Anakena was the legendary landing spot of the first Polynesian settlers. Swimming at the beach is possible. There are changing rooms and services for US$1.

Stop At: Ahu Nau Nau, Playa Anakena, Easter Island Chile

Ahu Naunau is probably the best preserved restored ahu of the island. Located within the royal district, it tells the story of the ancient Rapanui highest chiefs and their immense power before it declined in later centuries.

Stop At: Ahu Akivi, Easter Island Chile

The first proper archaeological restoration of the island, Ahu Akivi has seven moai facing west. Old and modern myths blend together in this place.
