Enchanting tour in Arica and Parinacota!

We start early and walk through our natural reserve of migratory birds, at the mouth of the Lluta River. We will continue our way to the valley of Lluta, where we will see large and small geoglyphs. Then we will arrive at the town of Poconchile pre-Inca origin, there we will visit the Church of San Gerónimo de Poconchile.

Then we will cross the desert and arrive at the Azapa Valley. Our next stop will be the "Hummingbird Sanctuary".

Here we will stay for lunch in a rural environment, full of nature and harmony.

Then we will go to the Archaeological Museum San Miguel de Azapa, Hall of Pre-Columbian Culture and Chinchorro.

We will return to Alto Ramírez to see some geoglyphs of Azapa.

We will continue tour the ancient Anzota Caves, Jurassic geological conformation, which provided protection to the first inhabitants of this area "La Cultura Chinchorro".

The "Sanctuary of the Picaflor" private initiative of the Madrid family that for more than 10 years is dedicated to the care and conservation of the birdlife of the place, especially the hummingbird Arica, whose species is the second smallest bird of the world and is in danger of extinction.

Cultural patrimony with more than 10,000 years of history, the Archaeological Museum of San Miguel of Azapa is another place to visit in Arica. The museum has anthropological vestiges and a colorful native flora and fauna surroundings.

The exhibition has more than 20,000 archaeological pieces that show the human development, divided in 3 sections: land, sea and men and its crafts and agricultural production.

Hall of Pre-Columbian Culture and Chinchorro.

The ancient Anzota Caves, Jurassic geological conformation, which provided protection to the first inhabitants of this area "The Chinchorro Culture", later this place began the extraction and subsequent commercialization of guano, product used as a very powerful fertilizer in pre-Inca times, to be rediscovered in the 1840s, with guano being the main source of economic and social development in Peru.
