It is the only trip to La Guajira where you know projects that positively impact the development of the Wayuú community, we have been supporting their training for five years so that your trip to La Guajira is not just connecting with an infinite landscape. Among the projects you will visit: turtle conservation, weaving workshop of the Wayuú backpack, ranchería afternoon.

Itinerary

Day 1: Uribia, Salinas de Manaure and Cabo de La Vela:

Stop At: Cabo de La Vela, Cabo de La Vela, La Guajira Department
Your trip starts at 05:00 am in the hostel of Riohacha, from there you will leave in a 4x4 car towards Uribía, you will have breakfast and then you will continue your trip to Las Salinas de Manaure, our guide will tell you about the salt process and the implications that this economic activity has for the development of La Guajira, will be the first look at the reality of this ancestral territory, then you will continue your trip to the ranchería of Idelsa, Wayuú woman that we met in the ponds many years ago and with whom we started The Wualapuinje venture, there she and her family teach us their traditional dance La Yonna, give us the tasting of the typical dish and we will have the possibility to share a time with El Palabrero, the most important authority of each clan
Wayuú We will continue the trip for two hours to Cabo de La Vela, we will arrive at one of the best rancherías where we will have lunch and then we will visit La Playa Ojo de Agua, Playa Arcoiris, we will climb the Pilón de Azúcar and we will see the sunset from El Faro, at the end In the afternoon we will have time to rest in cabins with private bathrooms.

Day 2: Dunes of Taroa and Punta Gallinas:

Stop At: Punta Gallinas, Carrera 5 3a 02, Uribia Colombia
After breakfast we will take the route through the arid desert, which after 4 hours will connect us to one of the most famous places in La Guajira: The Dunes of Taroa, when you arrive you can feel the wind tangle in your tracks to welcome you to the place Where your dreams dance to the rhythm of the sea, you will enjoy the scenery, maybe you can take a bath, all at your own pace because we prefer that you contemplate and let yourself fall in love without haste. Then we will arrive to Punta Gallinas, we will have lunch at the Alexandra restaurant, where we will also spend the night and head towards Punta Agujas Beach and El Faro (the northernmost point of South America). In the evening we will meet two local projects developed by the community of Bahía Hondita, where we will understand Wayuú cosmogony much better.

Day 3: Mayapo Beaches:

Stop At: Playas de Mayapo, Riohacha Colombia
Around 7 am you will leave the inn towards the Mayapo beaches, it will be a 5-hour tour approx. Upon arrival, you will visit María's restaurant, an enterprising, passionate and warrior woman who has taught us the value of persevering. You will have lunch prepared by your family with the view of the peaceful beach of Mayapo, you may find some athletes because the winds of this area, is one of the favorite beaches near Riohacha to practice Windsurfing. Around 3 or 4pm we will return to Riohacha where your trip will end, you can stay at our Hammocks hostel or we will go directly to the airport.
