It is a funerary temple built by Queen Hatshepsut specifically for the worship of the goddess Hathor.
The structure of the temple is different from all the temples built before or after it.
On the walls of the temple are inscriptions and drawings depicting the queen's cruise ship to Puntland, which is now Somalia, and the goods it imported, such as ebony, gemstones and ivory.
There are also statues of the queen, in the form of a man with a borrowed chin in the Osirian body
