Danakil Depression is a geological formation which is result of triple plate movement between African, Somalian and Arabian plates which has been tearing Africa continent in two. due to this rift valley formation the area is known for active volcanoes salt flats and different abnormal liquids makes the area photogenic and a tourists destination.

Itinerary

Day 1: Mek'ele - Erta Ale

Stop At: Erta Ale, Active volicano Afar, mekele, 6611 Ethiopia
Travelers will spend the night enjoying the heat from the lava lake in Erta Ale.
Duration: 8 hours

Accommodation included: Overnight camping at the caldera of the Lava Lake

Day 2: Erta Ale - Lake Afdera - Abala

Stop At: Erta Ale, Active volicano Afar, mekele, 6611 Ethiopia
After Trekking down from the Lava lake Erta Ale, You drive to Lake Afdera for swimming and floating in the salt Lake, Finally drive to Abala For camping.
Duration: 1 hour

Accommodation included: overnight camping in Abala

Day 3: Abala - Lake Asale

Stop At: Dalol, Dallol, 135 Ethiopia
In Lake Asale You Enjoy the sun set and swim in the ponds created by sinkholes in the second largest salt flats on earth and film the camel caravan.
Duration: 2 hours

Accommodation included: overnight camping in Hamedela

Day 4: Hamedela - Dallol - Mekele

Stop At: Dalol, Dallol, 135 Ethiopia
Early morning our cars will fallow the camel caravans and drive to Dallol colorful mountain maar and there you visit the other world looking Dallol mountain, then the sulfuric acid ponds, the traditional salt excavation methods, canyons and finally in the afternoon drive back to Mek,ele, at 4:00pm arrive in Mek'ele.
