HIGHLIGHTS:
• The highland village of Bekoji, 273km from South of Addis Ababa, has produced long-distance runners who have won 16 Olympic medals in 20 years.  Bekoji has produced seven Olympic medal-winning runners.
• At any tournament. Any distance. Call it 10,000 meters, 5,000 meters, 2,000 meters, half a marathon or a marathon. Ethiopians are almost always the front runners. What’s the secret? On this overnight trip, you will have all the answers from the locals, including families of the athletes. You will experience their unique diet and humble upbringings. You will have the opportunity to go for a run and explore local villages.

Itinerary

Day 1: Day 1: Drive to Bekoji city

Stop At: Bekoji Kidest Mariam Church, Bekoji, Ethiopia
Pick up from hotel around 7.30am. Trip starts at 8am
• Quick stop at the city of Debrezeit to visit the Crater Lakes
• Typical Ethiopian lunch in the city of Nazeret or Bekoji depending on time
• Arrive in Bejoki around early afternoon
• Check in to Wabe Hotel, where you will be given time to rest
• Spend the rest of the day exploring local communities

Day 2: Day 2: Optional training at Bokoji Athletics Village

Stop At: Bekoji Kidest Mariam Church, Bekoji, Ethiopia
You will have the option of training at the famous Bokoji Athletics village or watch local athletes train
• After training ends, you will come back to your hotel for shower and breakfast
• After breakfast, you will spend a few hours further exploring the local community
• After lunch (around 2pm), we star our drive back to Addis Ababa
• Arrive in Addis early evening (around 7pm)
