This tour require a good physical condition, and good walking shoes to be able to hike to Montségur castle. Accessible to any person with a good physical condition able to hike.

Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Chateau de Foix, Place du Palais de Justice, 09000, Foix France

Our first stop is Foix. The city is dominated by its magnificent castle which stands on a rocky outcrop; a testimony to the glorious past of this medieval town. With it’s imposing walls and three towers, it has defied wars and time.

As there is long drive, we don’t stop in a restaurant. Please take a sandwich for a picnic.

Stop At: Chateau de Montsegur, D9, 09300 Montsegur France

We then drive to the Château de Montségur, where during a1hr30 round hike I will tell you the dramatic story and tragedy of the Crusade against the Cathars which occured in the 12th century. We then spend a relaxing lunch, enjoying the local cuisine.

Stop At: Mirepoix, France

Next stop is Mirepoix, a beautiful medieval village (it has an amazing outdoor market every Monday morning), the earliest mention of the place dates back to the 10th century.
