Stop At: Eglise Monolithe de Saint-Emilion, Place du Marche, 33330 Saint-Emilion France

The monolithic church is an underground religious building dug in the early 12th century in impressive proportions (38m long and 12 m high). At the heart of the city, the monolithic church recalls the religious activity of the city in the Middle Ages and intrigue by its unusual design. If it is revealed to the visitor by the position of a steeple high 68 meters, it then escapes behind the elegance of three openings on the facade and a gothic portal often closed. The church is as surprising as it is fragile!

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Chateau La Dominique, 1 Lieu Dit la Dominique, 33330 Saint-Emilion France

To the north-west of Saint-Emilion, on the edge of the Pomerol appellation, Château La Dominique has been cultivating its distinction for many years. First, an exceptional location, 29 hectares bordered by prestigious neighbors, in this cultural landscape since 1999 on the prestigious list of Unesco.

This Grand Cru Classé from Saint-Emilion has not ceased to reinvent itself: in 2014, the traditional 18th century residence hosted an avant-garde winery by Jean Nouvel, an internationally renowned architect. The mansion and the vat are physically connected by the heart of the building. Beautiful allegory: the way to respect the past is to be authentically modern.

After renovating the vineyard and modernizing the infrastructure, the Fayat family wanted to create a place to live, with a tasting area and a convivial restaurant.

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Chateau Angelus, Mazerat, 33330 Saint-Emilion France

The vineyard of Angélus is located in the heart of a natural amphitheater, dominated by the three churches of Saint-Emilion. At the heart of this privileged site, where the sounds are amplified, we could hear the bells ring the Angelus in the morning, at noon and in the evening. They punctuated the day's work in the vineyards and villages, and women and men stopped to work for a few moments.

The great French impressionist painter Jean-François Millet immortalized this moment of prayer in a magnificent work,

"The Angelus", now on display at the Musée d'Orsay.
