City Food Tour and Sailing in Nafplion

Your guide will begin the tour at the Land Gate, the only entrance to the Venetian city. We will pass by the point where Ioannis Kapodistrias, the first ruler of Greece, was killed and we will end up in the Syntagama Square, where Venetian and neoclassical buildings dominate around. As we tour the old town's picturesque alleyways, you will discover historical buildings such as the First Parliament of the Greek State and the Archaeological Museum. We will then visit local delicatessen shops where we will taste traditional cheeses and cold meat, olives and olive oil, honey and sweets with yogurt. Our next stop is a cellar where we will taste amazing Greek wines, ouzo and tsipouro. Next, we will board a luxury sailing boat, where we will sail along the Argolic bay, towards the cosmopolitan city of Tolo. On the way we will stop to enjoy a swim and admire the breathtaking scenery. On board you can enjoy drinks and snacks!

Our tour guide will meet you at your hotel and start your walk from the Land Gate, the only entrance to the Venetian city. We pass by the Cathedral of St. Spyridon, where Ioannis Kapodistrias, the first Governor of Greece, was murdered. We will end up in the Syntagma Square, where Venetian and neoclassical buildings dominate around. We will see historical buildings such as the First Parliament of the Greek State, the War Museum which used to be the first Military Academy of Greece, the Archaeological Museum which was the military warehouse built in 1713, on Philellinon square, the old customs building since 1830 and many other monuments of incompatible beauty.

After walking around the old town’s picturesque alleyways, we will visit a local breakfast shop where we will have some local recipes with eggs, home made jams and freshly baked bread etc. A traditional grocery is our next stop, where we will taste traditional cheeses and cold meat, olives and olive oil, honey and spoon sweets with yogurt. Next we will stop in a beautiful cellar to taste local wines, ouzo & tsipouro and learn about the wonderful world of wine since ancient years.

Stop At: Nafplio Port, PORT, Nafplio 211 00, Greece

We will end our tour at the port of the city, where we will board a luxury sailing boat. We will sail along the Argolic bay, heading towards the cosmopolitan city of Tolo. On our way we will stop in beautiful unreachable beaches to swim and admire the breathtaking scenery. The landscape is also magnificent, with all the small fish villages around the gulf and the mountains of Nemea in the back. On board you will enjoy drinks and snacks. We also provide equipment for your swim if it is needed.
