This is a tour that highlights the great and wonderful waterfalls in the south region. Your driver/guide is a tour and photo guide with good knowledge of both geology and history. On this tour, he will tell you about the rift zone, the hot spot volcanos, and waterfalls. He will tell you about the importance of Þingvellir National Park, and Haukadalur (the valley where you find Geysir and Strokkkur) in the fascinating settlement history. You will also hear stories from the Sagas, folklore stories and some weird things from one of the law speakers Snorri Sturluson, who was a chieftain and a writer in medieval times. Einar will also attend to more practical matters as to help you take better photos by all the interesting stops. You can also ask him about many things you find interesting in Iceland and about all kinds of things you like to know about Iceland. This is a tour to have fun and enjoy.

Stop At: Thorufoss, Laxa i Kjos River, Thingvellir Iceland

As this tour is centered around waterfalls we have made Þórufoss our first stop. A waterfall that fits well as an introduction to the waterfall concept. A waterfall that was one of the many GOT locations in Iceland.

Stop At: Oxararfoss, Thingvellir National Park, Thingvellir Iceland

The waterfall Öxaráfoss (The waterfall in the Ax River) in the ravine Almannagjá at Þingvellir is one of the best-known waterfalls in Iceland, at least among Icelanders. Like everything related to Þingvellir and Almnnagjá the waterfall has a sentimental reference and historical value. It is an important place in our most precious and sacred place Þingvellir. It is positioned inside Almannagjá in the Mid-Atlantic Ridge.

Stop At: Geysir, Haukadalur Iceland

Today the other impressive geyser Strokkur has taken the role and responsibility of erupting every ten to fifteen minutes every day and every night of the year. It is one of the most remarkable creature of mother nature in Iceland, almost like it wast designed for tourism. Barely fails or disappoints its hundred of thousands of visitors every year.

Stop At: Gullfoss, White River, Blaskogabyggd 801 Iceland

Gullfoss (The Golden Waterfall) in the river Hvítá is probably one of the best-known landmarks in Iceland. The Icelanders, being keen travelers themselves, will insist it is the most beautiful waterfall in the world. That is, of course, debatable but, beautiful it is and has made it to many lists of the most beautiful waterfalls on the planet.

From Gullfoss, we take the unusual route through the beautiful Brúarhlöð gorge with its stacks and pillars sculptured by the Hvítá river throughout thousands of years.

Stop At: Faxi (Vatnsleysufoss) Waterfall, Tungufljót River, Skalholt Iceland

The waterfall Faxi in the river Tungufljót in South region in Iceland is only twelve kilometers from the famous Geysir hot spring area and twenty kilometers from the famous waterfall Gullfoss

Hjállparfoss (Help waterfall) is a beautiful waterfall in the spectacular valley Þjórsárdalur in the South Region in Iceland. The waterfall is among 20 waterfalls in Iceland that are easily accessible and popular to visit and, on the list of most visited places in Iceland.

Stop At: Seljalandsfoss, Hvolsvollur 861 Iceland

Sljalandsfoss is renowned for its beauty and the fact that you can walk behind it. It is a spectacular place to visit at any time of the year.

Stop At: Gljufrabui Waterfalls, Pjoovegur Hamragarðar farm along the road, east of Markarfljót., Skogar 861 Iceland

Gljúfrabúi is one of the most exotic waterfalls in Iceland. Enclosed in a narrow and high gorge and its name translates to Gorge Dweller indicating that someone, a creature or an elfe, live in the gorge.
