The tropical monkey forest lies in the village of Pantangtegal, near the centre of Ubud. Here you can see over 700 long tailed macques in the area of 12.5 hectares. Inside the forest you can find many sacred temples guarded by the monkeys.

This temple is a national cultural heritage site. Tirta Empul means “holy water spring” which is actually the name of a water source located within the temple.
