Enjoy the classic jungle trek in the Gunung Leuser National Park and either camp in the jungle, sleep under the rocks or stay 1 night in one of the beautiful guesthouses nestled along Landak River, then trek for 1 day in the less explored fragmented hidden forests near Landak River in search of wild Orangutans. Chances of seeing other tourist is this area is rare, so you can enjoy this magical place by yourselves.
This trek provides income for local guides and encourages community based tourism

Itinerary

Day 1: Classic Trek in GLNP

Stop At: Bukit Lawang Jungle, Bukit Lawang 20774 Indonesia
During this 6 hour trek there are some up & downhill established trails, but with plenty of rest points. Your guides will search for Orangutans and you will get a chance to see other monkeys, like Thomas-leaf monkeys, Macaques or even a glimpe of a Gibbon. The trek will bring you across some amazing big trees. Your guides will explain things along the way, giving you a chance to ask questions. You will stop to have lunch before trekking to the camp
Duration: 6 hours

Meals included:
• Lunch: Basic local lunch provided like fried rice, fried noodle
• Dinner: dinner cooked over an open fire at the camp

Day 2: Trek at Batu Kelinci

Stop At: Landak River, Bukit Lawang, Bohorok, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra 20852, Indonesia
Trek along landak river. It is common to see Thomas-leaf monkeys chilling in the rubber plantantions, then trek down through the rocks into the hidden forest. Here the search for wild orangutans begins. This part of the trek can be strenuous with clambering over and to he side of rocks.
