Experience Agricultural Way of Life in Gumbrih Village

Inspired Village Adventures provide conscious travelers with an invaluable opportunity to venture far beyond the beaten paths of Bali, to discover the local rural village life, and to be inspired by the beauty and creativity of Balinese culture. These adventures also support and incentivize local communities to keep and maintain their ancestral lands and sustainable way of living.

We will learn about sustainable agriculture and rural Innovation by traveling to the homes of farmers, fishermen,and villagers in remote parts of West Bali to meet with farmers and learn how they care for their crops. Through this experience, we hope to be more connected with rural communities of Bali, the agrarian way of life in Bali, and our relationship between our physical and spiritual selves and Mother Nature.

Itinerary

Cacao Collective & Chocolate Factory
18 farmers formed a collective enterprise to grow organic cacao and produce their own dark chocolates. Learn how they plant trees, grow and harvest the pods, observe the process. Try your hand at making chocolate. Samples provided for all to enjoy!

Spiritual Virgin Coconut Oil Production
For the last 15 years, Bu Sukma has been producing her own virgin coconut oil. Every fifteen days (Holy Balinese Day), she gathers 11 types of different coconuts to make her special recipe. We will learn her process and technique by helping Bu Sukma make coconut oil.

An Organic Mushroom Farm
Putu started growing organic oyster mushrooms several years ago. his experimented with growing spores, developing unique machinery and production. We will visit the farm facilities, observe and taste the mushrooms.

Wildlife Rescue Site
Mita has a passion for animals. She rescues wildlife of all types, temporarily cares for them and reintroduces them into their proper habitats. We will learn about her work, the stories of the animals, and the role that different animals play in our ecosystem. There will also be opportunities to take pictures with monkeys and snakes.
