Day 1: Explore Pariaman

Day 2: Pagaruyung Palace - Pandai Sikek Village

Pagaruyung Palace (Minangkabau: Istano Basa Pagaruyuang) is the istana (royal palace) of the former Pagaruyung Kingdom, located in Tanjung Emas subdistrict near Batusangkar town, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra, Indonesia. It was built in the traditional Minangkabau Rumah Gadang vernacular architectural style, but had a number of atypical elements including a three-story structure and a larger dimension in comparison to common rumah gadang.

Pandai Sikek village at Padang Panjang city is famous with Minang Woven, hand made and manual machine embroidery. We visited one of the old time and famous Minang Woven maker which call “Pusako”. Stepping into the traditional gadang house with unique architecture and decoration is already something different. They will show you selection of good quality hand made Minang woven, and will not be able to breath because of its beauty. The price of traditional Minang woven (songket) starts from IDR 2,000,000 (USD 200) and up depending on the difficulties level of the work. Each songket will take minimum of 2 months time to finish.

Day 3: Explore Koto Gadang Bukittinggi

Great Wall of Bukittinggi known as miniature of Great wall of China. Here we will explore the ruin of World War Two by visiting Goa Jepang (Japan Cave).

With inspiring scenery and peaceful surrounds, a visit to Lake Maninjau will leave you relaxed and rejuvenated. If you’re looking for fantastic views, the Maninjau resort is perched at the top of a hill and offers some of the best views of the lake.

This lake is listed as the eleventh largest lake in Indonesia. Meanwhile, in West Sumatra, Maninjau is the second largest lake after Lake Batur which has an area of 129.69 km² and it located in two districts of Tanah Datar and Solok district. Around Lake Maninjau there are tourist facilities, like hotels, as well as lodging and restaurant.

Day 4: Buya Hamka Museum

Prof. Dr. H. Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah, better known by the pen name Hamka (17 February 1908 — 24 July 1981) was an Indonesian ulama and philosopher. During his life, he was also known as a writer, lecturer and journalist. He went into politics through the Masyumi Party until it was disbanded, served as the first Head of Majelis Ulama Indonesia, and was active in Muhammadiyah until he died. His name is used for Muhammadiyah’s University of Hamka and he was listed in the Indonesian’s National Heroes List.
