Itinerary

Day 1: Day 1: Dublin to Cork

Stop At: Rock of Cashel, Rock Vista Moor Lane, Cashel Ireland
Set sail for the Rock of Cashel. We have included admission to this historic site, also known as the Cashel of the Kings and St. Patrick’s Rock. It’s a collection of medieval ecclesiastical buildings set on an outcrop of limestone in the Golden Vale, including a 12th century round tower. Enjoy a nice lunch in the small town of Cashel before departing for Midleton, Co. Cork

Stop At: Jameson Distillery Midleton, Distillery Walk, Midleton Ireland
During an exclusive Behind-the-Scenes Tour of the Jameson Distillery Midleton, our expert Jameson Ambassador will guide you around some of the key buildings, such as the Micro-Distillery, the Cooperage, the Maturation Warehouse and a very special visit to the Distiller’s Cottage. Tastings of premium whiskeys are included throughout the tour, just a stone’s throw away from the pot stills where they are made to this day.

Onwards to Cork City, home of the award-winning The Shelbourne Bar, Irish Whiskey Bar of the Year 2018. With over 300 Irish whiskeys in stock and a resident connoisseur, this is the old stomping ground of our founders.

Option 2: Kinsale is a colourful fishing town, with its picturesque yachting harbour and the vast, star-shaped, 17th century Charles Fort overlooking the bay, there’s lots to see and do!

Return to Cork city this afternoon for our exclusive Cork Whiskey Walk. Experience a 4-hour walking, eating and drinking tour of Cork city guided by a local distiller, including tastings of some very rare Irish whiskeys. You’ll be transported back in time to 1779, to hear stories of pious Gaelic Chieftains, Rebel Cork characters, enterprising merchant princes, miserly city distillers, eccentric local personalities and to learn about the unique methods of Irish distillers’ craft.

The Shelbourne Bar for another round this evening, with a bespoke tasting included. You'll sample three to four rare whiskey with our resident Whiskey Expert, who will guide you through the subtleties of Irish Whiskey tasting.

Day 3: Day 3: Cork to Dingle

Stop At: Glengarriff, Glengarriff, County Cork
Departing Cork city, our first stop will be beautiful Glengarriff village in West Cork, as we set out to explore the undiscovered Beara Peninsula

The road to Kenmare winds along the mountaintops via the Caha Pass, a visually stunning mountain pass over the Caha mountains, with bird’s-eye views of Bantry Bay, at the eastern end of the Beara Peninsula

Stop At: Kenmare, Kenmare, County Kerry
We’ll stop for lunch in Kenmare, a lovely town on the Ring of Kerry. Continue making our way towards the Dingle Peninsula, stopping at Inch Beach, a 5km long, golden sand spit.

Dingle is arguably one of Ireland’s most charming towns, with eclectic shops, intimate cafés and cosy pubs.

One of the new kids on the block, Dingle Distillery has risen to the heights of Irish whiskey infamy in only a few short years, producing whiskey, vodka and gin. Enjoy a fully guided tour of this small artisan distillery at the heart of the Irish whiskey revival

This evening, immerse yourself in the unchanged surroundings of Dick Mack’s award-winning pub for a bespoke whiskey tasting. As a dual-function pub (and craft brewery), you’ll find beer and a fine selection of Irish whiskeys in one half of the bar, and a leather shop on the other! We'll organize another bespoke whiskey tasting where you can try some rare Irish Whiskeys!

Day 4: Day 4: Dingle to Killarney

Stop At: Ring of Kerry, Ireland
One of Ireland’s most spectacular day trips, the Ring of Kerry is a 111-mile circular route with rugged coastline, white-sand beaches and dramatic mountain passes

Stop At: Kells Sheep Centre, Kells Ireland
We join the Ring of Kerry at Killorglin and experience a fascinating sheep dog demonstration with a local shepherd at Kells Sheep Centre

Stop At: Valentia Island Ice Cream, Kilbeg, Valentia Island Ireland
Leave the tourist trail behind for undiscovered Valentia Island - visit a local dairy farm, where you can meet the family and taste their exquisite ice-cream

Stop At: Gortreagh, Portmagee, Co. Kerry, Ireland
After a fishermans’ lunch in the colourful village of Portmagee, we detour onto the awe-inspiring Skellig Ring for views of the famous Skellig Islands.

Stop At: Skellig Michael, Ballinskeillig Bay Ireland
Skellig Michael is known for its well-preserved early Christian monastery and more recently of Star Wars fame! Enjoy epic views as we drive the coast looking out to the wild Atlantic islands.

Passing through colourful towns and villages, we descend into Killarney National Park, stopping at Moll’s Gap and Ladies View for photos.

Enjoy a short forest walk up to Torc Waterfall, before arriving in Killarney, our lively home for the night.

This evening, visit the Celtic Whiskey Bar & Larder to take part in the Irish Whiskey Experience. Choose between a Farmhouse Cheese or Artisan Chocolate pairing, as you compare and contrast four Irish whiskeys.

Day 5: Day 5: Killarney to Ballyvaughan

Stop At: Tarbert, Tarbert, County Kerry
Departing Killarney this morning, our first stop is Tarbert ferry terminal as we make the short 20-minute crossing of the Shannon Estuary to Killimer in Co. Clare.

Stop At: Kilkee Cliff Walk, Dunlicky Road, Kilkee Ireland
Following the Wild Atlantic Way, showcasing the best scenery along the west coast of Ireland, visit the Kilkee Cliffs, a local gem and well-kept secret. Better than the Cliffs of Moher according to many people, we’ll let you decide as you see for yourself!

Making our way towards Doolin, we stop for a hearty lunch in a traditional Irish pub. The 700ft high Cliffs of Moher form part of a UNESCO Geopark and attract visitors from all over the world. Marvel at their spectacular beauty on a short hike led by your local guide, taking you away from all the crowds.

Stop At: O’Loclainn’s Irish Whiskey Bar, Ballyvaughan Ireland
Departing the cliffs, it’s a short drive to Ballyvaughan, a tiny village in Co. Clare where we have a special behind closed doors tasting at O’Loclainn’s Irish Whiskey Bar. You could lock us in O’Loclainn’s tiny, never-changing pub and throw away the key and we won’t protest: their intimate setting and capacious, intriguing selection of Irish whiskeys is enough to mesmerise anyone!

Day 6: Day 6: Ballyvaughan to Westport

Experience a sheep dogs demonstration with a local farmer at Killary Sheep Farm, with great views overlooking Killary fjord, the only true fjord in Ireland.

Day 7: Day 7: Westport to Dublin

Learn about the Céide Fields, the most extensive Neolithic site in Ireland and the oldest known field systems in the world

Stop At: Downpatrick Head, 2 miles North of Ballycastle Co Mayo, Ballycastle Ireland
The Céide coast is an area of unrivaled coastal beauty and is the home of Downpatrick Head, a majestic heritage site jutting out into the ocean with views of Dun Briste sea stack.

Stop At: Killala, Killala, County Mayo, Western Ireland
We also visit the ruins of the Monasteries of the Moy and Killala Round Tower.

Stop At: Connacht Whiskey Company, Belleek, Ballina Ireland
Experience a very personal, interactive tour of the newly opened Connacht Whiskey Distillery in Ballina. The distillery sits on the banks of the River Moy, where they distil and barrel-age spirits in a rural coastal environment unique to the west of Ireland. The tour finishes with an Ultimate Whiskey tasting of their current offerings, including three whiskeys (or gin/vodka if you prefer) and a sample of Straw Boys Poitin.
