Private tour of Pompei and wine tasting in Tramonti

This experience will give you a great taste of the history of the area, I share my knowledge during our time in together while driving.

Pompei it will be a touristic thing to do but is also a great experience, the wine tasting is off of the beaten path and shows you something that is very rare to see in the wine industry.

I have lived 3 years in New York city where I worked for a big company in the hospitality business where I learned the language and what people expect.

Stop At: Pompeii - Archaeological Area., Porta Marina Superiore (Via Villa dei Misteri) Piazza Immacolata, Piazza Porta Marina inf., 80045 Pompeii Italy

Hi, I am Michele.

I will pick you up at your accommodation in the morning to start our day, first stop is the archeological site of Pompei. The city was buried in the 79 A.D. from the eruption of the Mountain Vesuvius. The residents had no idea to live nearby a vulcano, infact the previous eruption had happened hundreds of years before Pompei was founded.

The city was a very important trading center for the Roman Empire. The large amount of finds, the plaster bodies, the frescos, the villas, give the archeologists enough information to have a vivid picture of the life style and routines in Pompei. This is probably the largest archeological site in the world, you could easily spend three days exploring it. But the visit of the ruins is not just about to watch what is left of a Roman metropoli. There is so much more to know about the commerce, the restaurants, the "entertainments", the life in general in Pompei was much closer to our modern way to live of what we think. A private tour guide (not included in the tour) is definitely the best way to get the most out of your time there. We always suggest to have a private tour guide or a shared one to lead your experience to a total different level.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: TraMonti DiVini, Via Comunale Gete Tramonti, 84010 Bolviso SA, Italy

After Pompei is time to get some food and wine.

We will drive to Tramonti and we will visit the Tenuta of San Francesco. It is a family run winery nearby Ravello's area. The farm extends over about eight and a half hectares and produces wines using vines that are 300 to 500 years old. These vines grew so old because of the acidity of the soil, the bacteria called phylloxera, which during the 18th century killed the 90% of the vines in Europe, do not survive in the area.

During the visit you will go through the ancient vineyard, the old cellar still working.

The tasting is 4 courses with pairing vines from their reserve.

The cost of this experience is €70 each person to be paid directly at the winery.
