5 Days Mt Kenya Hike Sirimon-chogoria Route

This 5 day Tour Takes you to Mt Kenya the highest mountain in Kenya and the second-highest in Africa, after Kilimanjaro measuring 4,985 meters via Sirimon Route The hike will take four days through Sirimon route this is the easiest
route to reach Point Lenana. The route is on dry side of the mountain
so it offers magical views and affords walks through old growth forest
on lower slopes and giant heather, Alphine flower...s and Lobelia in
higher elevations.

Itinerary

Day 1
Depart Nairobi at 6:30am
Road trip to Sirimon gate and have a picnic lunch before entry. The hike start from the Sirimon Park gate (2660m). (Old Moses camp 3,300m) Dinner and overnight stay at Old Moses Hut
Day 2
After a heavy breakfast, Hike to Shipton’s camp (4200m ), 17kms (6 to 8 hrs hike) through Likii Valley mid morning. A nourishing lunch will be served by the Likii River and continue to
Shiptons camp at 4200m for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3 (Summit day)
Kick off @ 2:00am the hike takes 3-4 hrs. Reach point Lenana (4985m) followed
by photo session on sunrise.Descend to Shipton Camp for breakfast, heading back to Old Moses camp. Lunch will be served by the Likii River on the way back to Old Moses
camp for overnight stay.
Day 4: shipton/summit/Mintos Hut/Bandas
After summit we follow the track through giant heather and forest down
to Chogoria road to the west of the gorges valley to reach Mintos Hut, for dinner and overnight stay
Day 5: Bandas – Nairobi 350m descent
After breakfast follow the track through giant heather and forest down
to Chogoria road head from where the path drops to cross a stream then
follows the broad ridge to the west....Back to Nairobi.
