Bishkek-Osh-Fergana 8 days tour

Kyrgyzstan has the most accessible nomadic culture in Central Asia. Nowadays many Kyrgyz people live a semi-nomadic way of life. This means that during the coldest months of the year, the nomads live in small towns and villages but as soon as the summer starts, they set up camp in the jailors (alpine meadows) and spend their days tending to their herds.

Itinerary

Day 1: Bishkek – Issyk Kul Lake

Stop At: Bishkek Park, Kiyevskaya St., 148, Bishkek 720000 Kyrgyzstan
Your guide will pick you up at Manas International Airport and accompany you to the capital city of Kyrgyzstan, just a 30-minute drive from the airport. First part of the day is dedicated to a guided tour of Bishkek. It includes visiting Pobeda Square (Victory Square), Duboviy Park (Oak Park), Central Ala-Too Square, National Philharmonic, and many others places of interest. Then you will be transferred to Issyk Kul Lake, surrounded by the celestial mountains

Stop At: Issyk-Kul Lake, Tian Shan Mountains, Karakol 722360 Kyrgyzstan
It’s the second largest alpine lake in the world (1608 m. above sea level). The lake is called "the pearl of Central Asia". Due to the salty water, Lake Issyk Kul possesses curative qualities

Stop At: Burana Tower, Don-Aryk, Tokmok 722201 Kyrgyzstan
On route to the lake, you will visit Burana Tower (an 11th-century minaret) and an open-air museum of Balbans (stone warriors). You will get to enjoy a traditional lunch and then we’ll make our trip to the lake

Day 2: Cholpon Ata – Kochkor felt

Stop At: Kochkor, Kochkor, Naryn Province
In the morning you will be transferred to Kochkor village. On the way, we will make a short break to give you the opportunity to visit ancient stone inscriptions (dating back to 800 B.C.). In Kochkor village you will spend some time with a family that will show you the way our national felt carpets are made. You even can create your own carpet together with them. You will also get to visit a small handicraft museum there. They have many examples of silver decorations, coats made of wolves, horse saddle decorations, carpets and more.

Day 3: Kochkor – Son Kul

Stop At: Son Kul Lake, Kyrgyzstan, Kyrgyzstan, 720000 Kyrgyzstan
After breakfast we start our drive to the second largest lake in Kyrgyzstan – Son Kul Lake. This lake is surrounded by mountains and it is the highest alpine lake in Kyrgyzstan, situated at an altitude of 3013 meters above sea level. Kyrgyz nomads started to come to this wonderful area with their families for rest and relaxation. Herders of the Naryn region come to the lake to use it as a pastureland. After our arrival, you will be free to explore and enjoy the virgin nature of the lake and its surroundings. Dinner and overnight are in nomadic collapsible dwellings - yurts. They are made of a wooden skeleton, covered with felt coverings.

Day 4: Son kul-Tash Rabat

Stop At: Naryn, Naryn, Naryn Province
In the morning we will drive to the town of Naryn which is situated right in the gorge. The drive to Naryn traverses over one of the most beautiful passes, along the top of a mountain. Visit art museum of Naryn. Lunch

Stop At: Tash Rabat, At-Bashi District, Naryn Province, Kyrgyzstan Kyrgyzstan
We continue to the Tash Rabat Caravanserai on the Great Silk Road (Stone Castle from the 14th century). The building is unique. Tash Rabat is located at the very heart of Tian Shan Mountains. Tash Rabat was built of stone blocks inside a mountain at an elevation of 3200 m above sea level. In total there are 31 rooms in the mountain. The walls are 1 m thick. There are also underground prison cells formerly used to incarcerate thieves in ancient times. There will be a traditional dinner and the night will be spent in yurts near Tash Rabat Caravanserai.

Day 5: Tash Rabat – Kazarman

Stop At: Kazarman, Kyrgyzstan
Today we will drive to Kazarman village. We cross MELS pass 3300 m (Marks, Engels, Lenin, Stalin), and we enter to one of the wildest regions of Kyrgyzstan. Wild animals are hosts here (wolfs, bears, marmots, etc.). We cross small hills and finally, we come to Kazarman village. Dinner and night in local house.

Day 6: Kazarman-Arslanbob

Stop At: Arslanbob, Arslanbob, Jalal-Abad Province
In the morning transfer to Arslanbob village. We take the most beautiful serpentine on the Great silk road. We cross kok art pass 3140m and we enter to green Ferghana valley. Lunch in Jalal abad. We drive to the famous walnut forest Arslanbob. Dinner and night in local house.

Day 7: Arslanbob – Uzgen – Djalal Abad – Osh

Stop At: Osh, Osh
In the morning we will drive to Osh city.
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Jalal-Abad, Kyrgyzstan
The journey takes about six hours and again you will drive along a mountain road. On the way we will visit Djalal Abad town and its famous Uzgen Tower. This tower was built in 11th century by Karakhanids. There are also mausoleums that were used as burial chambers for the leaders. The whole road will surprise you with its celestial mountains and excellent panoramic views. We will make many photos stops to remember this tour for a long time. You will really enjoy it! This night you will spend in a home stay.
