Kayaking week around Curonian Lagoon

Explore Lithuanian west coast. Paddling around Curonian Lagoon is a combination of a wilderness adventure, traditions and culture of local fishermen villages and some of the most picturesque landscapes in Lithuania.

Full itinerary of the tour:

Day 1. Vilnius.

Arrival in Vilnius. Accommodation in central located guesthouse. Meet our guide in the evening for briefing and maps of the tour. Take a guided city tour in Vilnius Old Town.

Day 2. Vilnius - Rusnė (Paddling distance approx. 8 km).

Drive towards Rusnė Island. After approx. 3,5h transfer you will reach the starting point and beginn your kayaking adventure. Discover old fishermen town Rusnė, see Lithuania’s border area with Russian Federation and have a cozy and short tour on one of the canal of Nemunas River Delta to reach Pakalnė village.

Day 3. Rusnė (Paddling distance approx. 18 km).

The route takes you around Rusnė Island. Paddle two river canals of the delta and enter wide  open water. Enjoy serenity in the nature reserve and discover bird paradise where you can watch herons, cranes and sea eagles among of other numerous species. See remote villages on the way before you will return to the cozy guesthouse.

Day 4. Rusnė - Mingė - Ventė (Paddling distance approx. 25 km).

Explore delta to the fullest today. Paddle shallow bays of the lagoon, visit old lighthouses and the most picturesque village in the region - Mingė. One of the world’s largest bird ringing stations in Ventė is well worth a visit before you reach the bungalow on the shores of the Curonian Lagoon.

Day 5. Ventė - Juodkrantė - Pervalka (Paddling distance approx. 18 km).

Start the day with transfer to Curonian Spit - our driver will pick you up in Ventė, take on a ferry and bring you to the starting point in Juodkrantė. Paddle along some of Europe’s largest drifting dunes. Find remote beaches, watch sea eagles and see the colony of cormorants along the way. Visit an old off-shore lighthouse before you reach Pervalka village.

Day 6. Pervalka - Nida (Paddling distance approx. 16 km).

Last paddling day is dedicated to relax and enjoy the views of woods, bays and capes of the Curonian Spit. You will pass Preila village and enjoy views of Nida from the water. Explore the town and hike its notorious sand dunes to round up your experience on the Curonian Spit.

Day 7. Nida - Vilnius.

Morning is the best time to enjoy the beautiful sandy beach on the sea side of Nida and swim in the waves of the Baltic Sea. In the afternoon our guide will pick you up in Nina and bring you back to Vilnius.

Day 8. Vilnius.

End of itinerary and options to prolong your stay in Lithuania.
