SIAN KA'AN

Become an authentic explorer and discover Sian Ka’an, meaning in Maya “Puerta del Cielo” or place where “Empieza el Cielo” is a protected natural space that is located on the Caribbean coast of the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987.

We will dive through a ‘Marine Safari’ aboard speedboats, discovering the flora and fauna of this wonderful and wild place between lagoons and the sea, circling the Peninsula until we reach Punta Allen. This jewel of a place that is located in a coral reef complex, is the second largest of its kind, on the coast of this Biosphere Reserve there are wide white sand beaches, small bays of turquoise water and mangroves, among others Ecological systems, this spectacular and unique environment makes your home an infinity of wildlife.

Each of these spaces is home to different types of fauna such as dolphins, sea turtles, manatees, seabirds, frigates, pelicans, cormorants, chocolate makers and hundreds of tropical fish of impressive color. A very peculiar ecosystem in Sian Ka’an is that of the so-called Petenes, a mass of trees that can measure up to thirty meters high. They are mostly oval or circular and their size varies from a few tens of meters to almost two kilometers in diameter.

The great beauty of Sian Ka'an lies in the combination of its crystalline waters and white sands surrounded by the green of its vegetation and surrounded by the sound of birds and the sea, ideal for all those people who truly love contact with the Nature and for those who want to discover for the first time a true paradise, there are about 23 archaeological sites, 103 species of mammals, and it is the nesting area of 336 species of registered birds.
