Cholula is considered the oldest continuously inhabited city in America, its history covers more than 2500 years. You can experience the former Convent of Our Lady of Remedies built on the pyramid. And as a backdrop to this breathtaking view, you can admire the majestic Popocatepetl volcano.

Walk the cobbled streets of Cholula, try local food and drinks and be dazzled by the architectural splendor of the Churches of Tonanzintla and San Francisco Acatepec, both magnificent examples of the indigenous baroque style.

Stop At: Great Pyramid of Cholula, Av. Morelos esq. 8 Norte, San Pedro Cholula 72760 Mexico

The great pyramid called Tlachihualtepetl, which means "hill made by the hand of man", is considered the largest pyramid in the world thanks to its basement of 400 meters per side. Beating that of the Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacán and those of Cheops in Egypt. From its top you have a privileged view of the Puebla Valley and there you will also find the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies built in 1594. From above you have a privileged view of the Popocatepetl Volcano and the Iztacihuatl.
Currently you can enter through the internal tunnels that were dug by archaeologists, by crossing them you can observe the different construction stages of the pyramid.

Stop At: Church of Santa Maria Tonanzintla, Avenue Reforma Norte, Santa Maria Tonantzintla Mexico

The Church of Santa María Tonanzintla is famous for its decorations in what has been termed as baroque-indigenous art. In a pre-Hispanic interpretation it is originally dedicated to the goddess Tonatzin or goddess of corn and later replaced by the Data of the 16th century and was built in four phases, inside you can find pre-Hispanic decorative elements such as dark-skinned angels and others with blond hair and blue eyes, niches with tropical fruits and corn.

Stop At: Templo San Francisco Acatepec, Amozoc, La Purisima San Francisco Acatepec, San Pedro Cholula 72875 Mexico

This temple is a magnificent example of the Baroque - indigenous, with its magnificent facade covered with red brick Talaveray tiles, it is certainly a must see if you see Cholula. Built around 1730 by the Franciscans today it remains standing as one of the most important religious monuments in Mexico.
