Street Photography for Women - one day walking tour

Street Photography Tour for Women - are you travelling alone, or with a group of photography buddies, this day is suitable for beginners through to advanced.

This day is about the ‘art’ of street photography and being comfortable creating great images with your camera.

If you are new to photography, you will learn street photography techniques and creative approaches and produce stylish and distinctive images which reflect your style.

What you will learn:
- Develop a street photographer’s ‘eye’ and learn how to spot a photo opportunity in an everyday street scene
- Understand the components of a great street image
- Understand some of the key legal and ethical aspects of street photography in New Zealand
- Expect to walk over 6,000 steps on this adventure
- Throughout the day you will receive a significant amount of one-to-one tuition and coaching
- We will finish the formal part of the day at around 4.30pm/5.00pm with a glass of wine.

Stop At: Karangahape Road (K Road), Auckland Central, Auckland New Zealand

Walk bohemian Karangahape Road, considered to be one of the cultural centres of Auckland, since the 1980s–1990s it has been undergoing a slow process of gentrification, and is now known for off-beat cafes and boutique shops.

Stop At: Symonds Street Cemetary, 120 Symonds Street, Auckland Central, Auckland 1010 New Zealand

Symonds Street Cemetery is a historic cemetery and park in central Auckland, New Zealand. It is in 5.8 hectares of deciduous forest on the western slope of Grafton Gully, by the corner of Symonds Street and Karangahape Road, and is crossed by the Grafton Bridge.

Stop At: Albert Park, Princes St, Auckland Central, Auckland New Zealand

Albert Park is centrally located in Auckland's Central Business District which had an elaborate Victorian fountain that has been a prominent feature since the early days of the park's creation. A Queen Victoria statue stands close by and was unveiled in 1899 to celebrate the 60th year of her reign.

Sky tower views from Albert Park and University of Auckland’s Clock Tower provide excellent photographic opportunities.

Stop At: Queens Arcade 34-40 Queen Street, Auckland Central, Auckland 1010 New Zealand

Queens Arcade was originally constructed as three separate buildings with two main street frontages. The “south arcade” to Queen Street was originally two separate buildings erected in the early 1900’s with a brick-separating wall.

This arcade boasts of a number of boutique shops at street level, as well as an expansive East Asian food court downstairs. One of the oldest arcades in Auckland City, The Strand Arcade dates back to 1910.
