The 3 day 2 nights Huchuy Qosco trek is a really nice and not too challenging option that combines espectaculr mountain views, original Inca Trails a community visit and a guided tour of the little known Inca site of Huchuy Qosco which is located in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Taking you off the beaten track you get away from the all the crowds of the better known treks but still get to enjoy all the amazing things Peru has to offer. The Huchuy Qosco trek is perfect for those with a short time frame or who are looking for an easier trekking route.

Itinerary

Day 1: Cuper Alto - Huchuy Qosqo

Pass By: Laguna Piuray, 08650, Peru
The lake is famous for keeping in its waters an ancient legend that tells that the sun god asked Manco Cápac that his twin children accompanied him in his sunset and when the time came, they discovered that the son who walked further had become Huaypo Lagoon and the daughter in Piuray Lake.

Pass By: Chinchero, Chinchero, Cusco Region
Chinchero, a small village located high up in the windswept plains, offers spectacular views over the Sacred Valley and the snowcapped peaks of the Andes. Renowned for its beautiful traditional weavings, this town is the perfect place to pick up souvenirs and gifts. Here we immerse ourselves in the local community meeting village elders and the friendly local inhabitants.

Accommodation included: Today after 6 hours of walking, we'll arrive to Huchuy Qosqo and camp there.

Day 2: Huchuy Qosqo - Aguas Calientes

Stop At: Lamay, Lamay, Cusco Region
Lamay has scenarios for both ecological, archaeological, historical-architectural, thermomedical, and experiential tourism.

Regarding the natural tourist resources that the traveler can find in the district of Lamay, there are sites such as the Grotto of Huispan. This natural resource of Lamay, is attractive for the formations of stalactites and stalagmites that it presents. The place is also attractive at the religious level, because of the image of the virgin that, for more than half a century it presents. The cave is located on the hill of the same name and is a pilgrimage path that is followed every May 13, in honor of the Virgin of Fatima.

Another natural resource of the Lamay district is the Pachar Chumpe Lagoon. This lagoon is a must for the visitor of Lamay who likes quiet scenarios in which to fish, rest and even enjoy the exquisite cuisine of Lamay, prepared with products freshly extracted from its lagoon.

As for the archaeological resources of the Lamay district, there are sites such as the Qaqyaqawana Archaeological Zone, also known as Huchuy Cusco. This archaeological attraction is an Inca construction that receives the second name of "Huchuy Cusco", because of the architectural and spatial similarity of the enclosures that it presents in relation to those erected in the imperial city. The resource is part of the Cultural Heritage of the Nation, and it can only be accessed on foot, after two hours of walking from the town of Lamay.

Pass By: Urubamba, Urubamba, Sacred Valley, Cusco Region
Urubamba is located in the heart of the Sacred Valley, so, wherever it is observed, it will always present a great view ofthe Sacred Valley.
Among the tourist attractions that are located within the city of Urubamba, there are places such as the city's Plaza de Armas. Around this central point in the city, is the main church of the city, which is known as the Church of San Francisco.
Among the natural attractions found in the territory of the city, is the beautiful Urubamba River, which is presented as an interesting route for those interested in rafting.
We'll have Lunchin Urubamba.

Stop At: Ollantaytambo, Ollantaytambo, Sacred Valley, Cusco Region
Ollantaytambo is the Sanctuary of the Wind, renowned for its ancient fortress. We visit the royal baths and fountains for a shamanic energy cleansing ceremony by Unu, the Water element, and then make our way along the murmuring river to the Temple of the Condor for a few moments of reflection and silent meditation.
after Lunch we'll make our way to Ollantaytambo and ride our train Along the Urubamba river to the Charming Village of Aguas Calientes.

Stop At: Aguas Calientes, Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, Cusco Region
Aguas Calientes is the closest town to the Machu Picchu National Park and the place of the last train station. Aguas Calientes is the city at the bottom of the valley below Machu Picchu, also known as Machu Picchu town, but the name of Aguas Calientes, receives it because at the bottom of the city, in a small recess of the mountain, you can find “ hot springs ”, rather, thermo - medicinal waters.

Day 3: Machupicchu Sanctuary

Stop At: Machu Picchu, Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, Cusco Region
Waking up early we’ll take the first bus back up to Machu Picchu to enter the site as it opens. We’ll have a 2 hour guided tour of the site during which you’ll learn about the Incas and visit all the most important areas of the citadel. After your tour you’ll have free time to explore the site by yourself and if you have permits to climb either Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain. In the afternoon you will take the train back to Ollantaytambo from where you will carry on by bus back to Cusco.
