Machu Picchu Tours 4 Days

Capital of the ancient Inca Empire, Cusco offers the best of traditional and modern Peru. Day or night, you will find plenty to see and do! After our excursions, take your time to explore the traditional markets and workshops selling brightly colored textiles and delicious local foods! Visit Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, 3 nights accommodation during your exploration of the Inca heartland.

Enjoy of the Machu Picchu tours, this tour allows you to spend the night in Machu Picchu town, so that You can enter the archaeological site earlier than other people, who arrive during the day. You will get the best pictures, and you will take a more relaxed trip.

Day 1: Cusco – Cusco city Tour

You will be met at Cusco airport and transferred to your hotel where you can enjoy a courtesy coca tea. In the afternoon, we have a city tour, which includes a visit to the Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun), the main Cathedral of Cusco, and the four archaeological sites Sacsayhuaman, Q´enqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay.

 Day 2: Cusco – Full day Sacred Valley tour – Cusco

After breakfast, pick up from your hotel. We leave the city of Cusco and drive out past Saqsaywaman and Tambomachay, over the mountains towards the Sacred Valley. We descend 1500 feet to the valley floor of the sacred Urubamba River, arriving at the village of Pisac where we will visit a traditional market. This is a great place to buy some local souveniers. We then drive up to explore the extensive ruins of Pisac with stunning views over the valley.

We continue on to Urubamba where we stop for our lunch. A further 45 mins drive takes us to Ollantaytambo, surrounded by the sacred mountains, where we will again discover the magnificence of the Incan constructions, including the amazing temple of the Sun, enormous blocks of rock perfectly carved and polished, stone water fountains, stairs and terraces. In this ancient village you can appreciate the beauty of the local people in their traditional dress, all surrounded by the sacred mountains and the valleys of Patacancha and Willoq. After visiting Ollantaytambo, we take the “Expedition” train to Aguas Calientes to spend the night.

 

Day 3: Machu Picchu full day tour

After breakfast, we pick you up in your hotel and take the bus to the entrance of the citadel. After a century of archaeological discoveries, and thanks to recent studies of XVI century archive documents, there are good grounds to suppose that the citadel of Machu Picchu, just like the pyramids of the pharaohs of Egypt or the tomb of emperor Chin Shi Huang in China, was a luxurious and well cared for mausoleum for Inca Pachacuteq, the founder and first emperor of Tahuantinsuyo.

At agreed time, you will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes for lunch, and then you must be at the station 30 minutes before the train departs. Reception and the train station in Cusco and transfer to your hotel.

Day 4: Cusco – Return home

Breakfast and transfer to the airport or bus station
