Sacred Valley Of The Inkas

The sacred valley tour is one of the most popular tours in the region. The sacred valley of the Incas was a crucial area for the Inca Empire and it functioned as both an agricultural, spiritual and political center for them. Throughout its length there are many Inca and pre-Inca sites that can be found, the sacred valley tour visits the 3 main sites, Pisac, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero. Lasting a full day you will get to appreciate the fine works of craftsmanship that the Incas produced and see the beautiful scenery of the sacred valley. Many tourists opt to do this tour just before their visit to Machu Picchu as you can choose to finish in Ollantaytambo from where you take the train on to Aguas Calientes (the town at the base of Machu Picchu).

Pass By: Santuario Animal de Cochahuasi, Km. 22 Via Cusco Pisaq, Cusco 0800 Peru

Cochahuasi is dedicated to rescuing and looking after animals which have suffered mistreatment of any kind from former owners or evil poachers or illegal hunters whom commercialize protected species. These rescued animals are put under the care of C.A.S by The forest Rangers, a dependency of The National Police or by the National Government.

Pass By: Taray, Taray, Sacred Valley, Cusco Region

Among the tourist attractions that visitors can find in the district of Taray are recognized places like the Theme Park of South American Camelids, also called Awanakancha; This park, as the name suggests, exposes in its territory to camelid species such as vicuñas, llamas and alpacas; in relation to these animals, the manufacture of textile products made with the wool of these animals is also promoted in this park.

Stop At: Pisac, Pisac, Sacred Valley, Cusco Region

Pisac is a fairly rich archaeological district. In this district is the Pisaq Archaeological Complex that rises above 3,300 meters above sea level. This complex is Incan origin and would have had both religious and agricultural use. The Archaeological Complex of Pisac is divided into four sectors: Kialla Q´asa, which is purely residential; Intihuatana, where this solar observatory is located; Pisaqa, where in addition to residential enclosures there are platforms of platforms, Tantana Mara, where funerary structures are recognized, among others.
In addition to the archaeological remains of Pisaq, this district presents attractions such as: the rock paintings of Chahuaytire, which are located within this peasant community and that are characterized by presenting red and black pigments. Other attractions of Pisac is the Famous tradittional market, wich takes place every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, where the exhibition and sale of many type of products are held.

Among the tourist attractions that are located within the city of Urubamba, there are places such as the city's Plaza de Armas. Around this central point in the city, is the main church of the city, which is known as the Church of San Francisco.
Among the natural attractions found in the territory of the city, is the beautiful Urubamba River, which is presented as an interesting route for those interested in rafting.

Ollantaytambo is the Sanctuary of the Wind, renowned for its ancient fortress. We visit the royal baths and fountains for a shamanic energy cleansing ceremony by Unu, the Water element, and then make our way along the murmuring river to the Temple of the Condor for a few moments of reflection and silent meditation

Chinchero, a small village located high up in the windswept plains, offers spectacular views over the Sacred Valley and the snowcapped peaks of the Andes. Renowned for its beautiful traditional weavings, this town is the perfect place to pick up souvenirs and gifts. Here we immerse ourselves in the local community meeting village elders and the friendly local inhabitants.
