The Arab Hall holds the most prominent of all the palace rooms due, as the name implies, to gold-capped 19th century stuccoes with Arabic characters that fill the room's walls and ceiling. It is in this hall that the tributes to heads of state who visit the city take place.

In the Portraits Room is a famous table by the carver Zeferino José Pinto that took three years to be built, proving to be a "highly qualified exemplar in all the international exhibitions to which he competed".
