Hacker transfers yen from jewelry bank account

Tokyo police have arrested a 34-year-old computer hacker
Thursday on suspicion of transferring some 210,000 yen from a jewelry
company's bank account to his own after illegally obtaining the firm's
Internet banking identification number and password, police officials
said.

Kiichi Hirayama from the city of Chiba is believed to have transferred
a total of some 11.4 million yen from the bank accounts of 10
companies, using software called spyware to steal data from their
computers, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
