Paarl Wine Tour

Paarl is named after the Pearl Rock or Pearl Mountain. In 1687 Governor Simon Van Der Stel gave title deeds to the first colonial farms in the area to the free burghers and the following year French Huguenots arrived from Europe and began farming in the Paarl Valley with its fertile soil and Mediterranean climate – like region.
Founded in 1690, Paarl is the Berg River Valley`s main centre, though the first man in the valley was Abraham Gabbema in 1657.Named after two huge granite domes which glistened in the morning sun known as Paarl Rock. In 1688 a number of Huguenots settled in the Paarl Valley becoming part of the cradle of the South African wine industry. Driving down Main Road there are museums, galleries, churches, and a mosaic of Cape Dutch, Victorian, We do 4 various wine farms in Paarl and cherry pick simply the very best of the best.
