Itinerary

Day 1: Visit nuwara eliya

Stop At: Gregory Lake, Nuwara Eliya Sri Lanka
Take a boat ride on Gregory Lake

Gregory Lake is a huge lake in the middle of the Nuwara Eliya. There is a calm park next to it with walkways and benches to rest on. There are horses roaming which are offered for rides, plus for a few hundred rupees, tourists can take a 20-minute speedboat ride on the lake. The cool air is lovely on the water and the sights are unbeatable. Gregory Lake was created by Governor William Gregory between 1872 and 1877. It was used for watersports during the British colonial period.

Stop At: Ambewela Farms, Nanuoya Rd, Nuwara Eliya 22200 Sri Lanka
The largest and more prestigious dairy farm is also in Nuwara Eliya. Just a little bit out of town and you reach the rolling hills of Ambewela where the cows roam free to graze in turns. Visitors can see the milking stations of the dairy cows and see the calves in the nursery. The cows are well taken care of and the visit is quite pleasant. The farm is pretty big so there is a lot of walking. Drink a fresh glass of milk at the cafe station up the hill and buy some cheese to eat.

Stop At: St Clair's Falls, Hatton-Talawakele Highway, Talawakele, Nuwara Eliya 22200 Sri Lanka
You will see this falls on the way nuwara eliya

Stop At: Pedro Tea Factory, Nuwara Eliya Sri Lanka
Barely 3.5 kilometres from Nuwara Eliya town, Pedro's Tea Factory lies nestled in the hills. The view is stellar, the Lovers' Leap Ethical Tea Boutique chic, and the factory a bit small but nevertheless interesting.
If you're wondering what the Lovers' Leap tag is about, it's in reference to the nearby waterfall of the same name, supposedly named after an ancient prince and his lover who leapt to their death rather than be separated. Gory stuff to ponder over as you delicately sip on your tea.

Day 2: Visit Ella

Stop At: Demodara Nine Arch Bridge, Gotuwala, Ella 90090 Sri Lanka
It’s a famous photographing spot due to the gorgeous, old-school design of the bridge and the surrounding green bushes and trees.

When you dig into the history of the bridge, you once again discover the heavy influence the British had on the region.

Though it is now one of the most popular things to do in Ella, it isn’t, strictly speaking, in Ella …

It’s in Demodora, halfway between Ella and Demodara Railway Station and Ella Railway station.

I recently found out that there’s a chance this famous bridge was once meant to be constructed of steel. However, due to WW2, Britain was forced to redirect all steel production to the war effort.

As such, local engineers were forced to construct the bridge from stone and cement.
Duration: 6 hours

Pass By: Ravana Ella Falls, Ella-Wellawaya Road, Ella 90090 Sri Lanka
About 15 minutes from Ella you have Ravana Falls. These are perhaps the easiest waterfalls to get to in the area as they are literally at the side of the main road you drive down.

You can walk up to them and stand at the edge of the flowing water beneath the falls.

Some people also choose to swim in there, though it is incredibly dangerous.

No meals included on this day.
Accommodation included: You will be arranged best hotels or guest houses as your choice including good rates.

Day 3: Visit kandy

Stop At: Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya Road, Peradeniya 20400 Sri Lanka
The Botanical Gardens are Sri Lanka’s largest and most impressive gardens with a staggering 2 million visitors a year.
They’re very well maintained, spacious and boast a huge variety of plants, flowers, bamboo forests, bats, monkeys & birds. The Botanical Gardens are known for its collection of orchids so don’t miss out on them. If you’re feeling lazy, golf buggies can be rented to explore the gardens instead of by foot.
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Temple of the Tooth, Sri Dalada Maligawa, Sri Dalada Veediya, Kandy 20000 Sri Lanka
Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, alongside Adam’s Peak, is considered one of the holiest places in Sri Lanka and is an important pilgrimage destination. The golden-roofed temple is supposedly home to a tooth of Buddha and during the puja, the time of offering and prayers, tourists as well as religious followers are able to inspect the gold casket in which it is guarded. The temple itself is located in the royal palace complex, which encompasses several temples and museums. It was originally believed that the holder of the tooth relic would also be the rightful governor of Sri Lanka. Particularly noteworthy is the annual perahera, during which the tooth is paraded around the city accompanied by around 65 colorfully decorated elephants.
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Kandy Lake, Centre of Kandy City, Kandy 20000 Sri Lanka
Kandy Lake was artificially constructed by the last king of Sri Lanka and Kandy, Wikrama Rajasinhe, as an additional feature for the beautifully laid out Temple of Tooth complex. Also called the Milky Ocean, the lake remains partially incomplete due to the British invasion in 1815. Several legends are connected to Kandy Lake and it is believed that the king installed a secret tunnel from its island to the palace. Nowadays, it remains one of the most highly regarded sights in the country and, despite its location in the center of the bustling city, the lake makes for a wonderful stroll and a respite from the noise of motorbikes and market vendors.
