5 Days Best of Tanzania Safari Migration

When planning a migration safari to Serengeti, it is highly important to understand the best place to be based at any point of time during Serengeti safari. The Wildebeest and Zebra basically move in a huge anti-clockwise direction. While June is a good time to around the Grumeti River, July/August/September/ sometimes even October is better to be in the Masai Mara.

Day 1 – Transfer from your hotel to Tarangire for Game drive

You will be picked up from your hotel in Moshi/ at 07:30 am and proceed to your park where you will begin your game drive – our experienced driver guide will advise you the best areas of the park to enjoy game viewing the most. Enjoy picnic lunch in the bush followed by game drives till late afternoon! O/n at your Lodge/ Tented Camp

Day 2 Transfer to Serengeti National Park via Ngorongoro Conservation Area game drive on-route

You will depart early just after breakfast heading to the endless plains of the Serengeti via Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoy game drive en-route where you will explore a lot in this magnificent parks (today, you can optionally pay a quick visit at Maasai Boma for cultural experience) and arrive at your Lodge/ Camp in good time for sundowner drinks followed by dinner and overnight!

Day 3 – Full day Serengeti Migration game drive

The day will be spent in the Serengeti observing for the World’s greatest wildlife spectacular event – The Great Migration and spend the rest of the remaining time to discover what the Serengeti’s great plain can offer! Return to the Camp/ Lodge elated, sit for a sundowner drink while contemplating your long day’s wonderful experience, followed by dinner and overnight.

Day 4  - Half day Game drive then transfer to Ngorongoro

The day starts with a sunrise game drive early in the morning (before breakfast) – today you will have a high chance of seeing the major cat families such as lions, Leopard and cheetahs roaming in the vast plains of the Serengeti. You will then go back to your Camp for breakfast and pack ready for your transfer to Ngorongoro crater rim where you’ll spend a night at your Lodge/ Tented Camp

Day 5 – Ngorongoro Crater and drive back to Moshi

Leave just after breakfast; descend into the Ngorongoro Crater floor where you will spend the whole of your morning time exploring the Crater to see the large animals residing there. These includes elephants (mainly bulls), lions, Buffaloes and Black Rhino. Leave after enjoying your picnic lunch at the hippo’s pool picnic site and drive slowly to Moshi – on the way you can stop at the curio shop to grab some souvenir to take back home with you
