Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) - Arusha Town

Stop At: Arusha, Arusha, Arusha Region
Arusha is a city in East Africa's Tanzania, located at the base of volcanic Mt. Meru. It's a gateway to safari destinations and to Africa's highest peak, 5,895m Mt. Kilimanjaro, lying some 100 kilometers northeast and to the west lies Serengeti National Park, home to wildlife including lions, rhinoceros, giraffes and leopards. As a tourist hub, here you will spend the night and commence your journey to the parks as per your itinerary.

Day 2: Arusha passing through Lake Manyara National Park - Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Stop At: Lake Manyara National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Arusha Region
After your breakfast which will be ready at 7AM, you will meet with our representative who will give you a short safari briefing and your driver guide with a 4×4 safari vehicle will drive you on a paved road to Lake Manyara National Park for a half day game drive (No tarmac roads in all the Parks). Picnic lunch will be served at one of the picnic sites inside the park. Lake Manyara National Park is known for its flamingos. During the wet season they inhabit the edges of the lake in flocks of thousands but they are not so present during the dry season. More than 400 species of birds inhabit the park and many remain throughout the year. Because of this Lake Manyara National Park is the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. Visitors to the park can expect to see upwards of 100 different species of bird on any day. Leopards, tree climbing lions, elephants, blue monkeys, dikdiks, gazelles, hippos, giraffes, impalas and more inhabit the park and many can be seen throughout the year.

After you drive out of the Lake Manyara National Park, the tour continues to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area arriving at the lodge in time for check in, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: A day inside the Ngorongoro Conservation Area

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a protected area and a World Heritage Site located 180 km (110 mi) west of Arusha in the Crater Highlands area of Tanzania. The area is named after Ngorongoro Crater, a large volcanic caldera within the area. The conservation area is administered by the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority, an arm of the Tanzanian government, and its boundaries follow the boundary of the Ngorongoro Division of the Arusha Region.

Today you will descend to an amazing Ngorongoro Crater after your early breakfast at the lodge. You will have a half day crater tour that is blessed with an abundant number of animals. You will decide with your guide whether to take picnic lunch with you and enjoy inside the crater floor or you can ascend back to the lodge and get hot lunch. The main feature of the Ngorongoro Conservation Authority is the Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. The crater, which formed when a large volcano exploded and collapsed on itself two to three million years ago, is 610 metres (2,000 feet) deep and its floor covers 260 square kilometres (100 square miles). Estimates of the height of the original volcano range from 4,500 to 5,800 metres (14,800 to 19,000 feet) high. The crater floor is 1,800 metres (5,900 feet) above sea level. The crater was voted by Seven Natural Wonders as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa in Arusha, Tanzania in February 2013. The Ngorongoro volcano was active from about 2.45 to 2 million years ago.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Tarangire National Park

Stop At: Tarangire National Park, Tarangire National Park, Arusha Region
Please liaise with your driver guide to request an early breakfast before you drive to Tarangire National Park for game drive. You will proceed to your Lodge for check in and hot lunch before you go for another afternoon game drive. Tarangire National Park is a national park in Tanzania's Manyara Region. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses the park. It covers an area of approximately 2,850 square kilometers (1,100 square miles.) The landscape is composed of granitic ridges, river valley, and swamps. Vegetation is a mix of Acacia woodland, Combretum woodland, seasonally flooded grassland, and baobab trees. The park is famous for its high density of elephants and baobab trees. Visitors to the park in the June to November dry season can expect to see large herds of thousands of zebra, wildebeest and cape buffalo. Other common resident animals include waterbuck, giraffe, dik dik, impala, eland, Grant's gazelle, vervet monkey, banded mongoose, and olive baboon. Predators in Tarangire include lion, leopard, cheetah, caracal, honey badger, and African wild dog.

Day 5: Tarangire National Park - Arusha town - Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO)

After breakfast depart for Arusha, lunch in Arusha at Arusha Coffee Lodge or similar , (Option Dayroom), and proceed to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight back home.
