3-Day Doi Angkhang Motorcycle Tour from Chiang Mai

This amazing motorcycle adventure will take you to the most beautiful countryside of Northern Thailand. We know what you want: great roads, no traffic, no speed cams and stunning scenery. The “Doi Angkhang” tour can deliver all that and more. Our goal for this excursion is to avoid any city traffic and to find the most stunning windy roads around Chiang Mai, the “Samoeng Loop”. Discover amazing Phayao. Visit the mountainous scenery of hidden Doi Angkhang (Thailand´s “Shangri-La”). You will have unique sightseeing, mostly unseen in Northern Thailand.

Early morning meet and greet at your accommodation in Chiang Mai. We will provide the tour briefing, and then your riding gear and bike. We will inform you briefly of local history, geography and acknowledge any personal requirements. Lastly we have a general Q&A opportunity for any concerns you might have related to the tour.

Day 1. Chiang Mai – Samoeng Loop - Phayao (154miles or 248 kms.)

We take the highway, heading north of Chiang Mai to Mae Sa Elephant Camp, where you will feed the elephants, see them bathing and performing their talents. Then you will ride around Chiang Mai along winding and narrow twisty curvy roads with high mountain scenery (Samoeng Loop). After that, ride the windy mountain road to Than Tong waterfall and Mae Kachan hot spring. Continue on true bikers paradise roads until you reach Phayao. Overview from top of the hill Phayao lake (Kwan Phayao) one of the largest lakes in Northern Thailand. before relaxing in your lovely accommodation.

Day 2. Phayao – Doi Angkhang (142miles or 229 kms.)

After breakfast, we ride on one of the best roads to discover Thailand´s “Shangri-La”. Visit Ang Khang Royal Agricultural Station. The agricultural station researches and cultivates temperate climate fruits, flowers, and vegetables. At present, the station has more than 12 species of temperate fruits such as raspberries, peaches, plums, kiwis, and strawberries, and more than 60 species of vegetables such as carrots, Brussels sprouts, and peas, and more than 50 species of temperate flowers such as carnations and roses. Lunch is served at a local restaurant. Doi Angkhang is a district over 1,000 meters above sea level: Often with a misty, 360-degree panoramic view and refreshing weather the entire year (18 – 25 Celsius degree). Later you will enjoy and relax in your peaceful accommodation.

Day 3. Doi Angkhang – Chiang Mai (144miles or 232 kms.)

After breakfast, we leave Doi Angkhang and riding on windy and tiny mountain roads along the Myanmar border (former Burma) through the stunning scenery of Doi Angkhang mountain range. It is part of the Daen Lao Range that straddles both sides of the Burmese-Thai border. Ride along fantastic mountainous roads to visit Mae Ngat Samboon Chon Dam. Lunch is served at the dam restaurant. We continue riding, passing through national parks and farming areas. Visit a local market, stopping for refreshment, before heading back to Chiang Mai.
