Patom Organic Farm tour at Sampran Riverside in Nakhon Pathom

Enjoy a day away from the hustle and bustle of the city and discover the traditional Thai way of life in Nakhon Pathom. Begin the adventure with a short boat ride across the river to our Patom Organic Farm which is certified organic to IFOAM (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements), EU and COR (Canada Organic Regime) standards. In the tranquil grounds of the farm, take a guided tour around the herbal and vegetable garden and learn about organic agriculture through workshops of soil analysis and preparation, vermiculture, seed production, planting and other organic farming methods. After, sample seasonal fresh fruits before returning back by boat. Life jackets, umbrellas and gumboots are provided for the tour.

Have the option of adding on international buffet lunch made mostly from organic ingredients homegrown or sourced directly from local farmers to your organic journey.

You will meet our staff at the Sampran Riverside Hotel Lobby. Across the Ta-Chine river from our resort lies a 15-acre piece of land which used to be fruit orchards and paddy fields. For many years now, Sampran Riverside has been working with the local community to bring back the farm to its former glory. Sookjai Organic Farm project is managed by local villagers and Sampran Riverside. There, we grow fruits, vegetables, herbs and lotus with fertilizers made from waste materials such as leaves. At the back of the farm, we are also raise ducks and hens for organic eggs. The organic produces are used in our restaurants and as raw materials for our herbal products with the remaining sold at our Sookjai Weekend Farmers’ Market. Our goal is to be a model farm for the local community to go back to their organic ways and stop using chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
