Dundee City Centre Running Tour

Discover the most important sights of Dundee in 5 exciting miles. Our popular running tour is the most fun, sociable tour you will experience. A great way to see the places the buses can't get to. Our tours are set at a social pace, with lots of stops along the way to take photos and show you the sights. Starting from Run4it, right in the city centre, the tour will take in Slessor Gardens and the new V&A museum, as well as the beautiful Waterfront development, Magdalen Green, Perth Road and Albert Square.

You will be met by your guide, Elaine, at Run4it Dundee. Your guide is passionate about Dundee, tourism, and sports, and she will take you on your guided tour of the city.

Starting from the running shop, you will run through Slessor Gardens, recently opened and a beautiful green space popular with city residents. This will take you to Dundee's Waterfront, which is currently undergoing a £30 billion redevelopment, and you will be able to see the progress, marvelling at the architecture.

From here you will run past Dundee's V&A museum. Opened in September 2018, this is Scotland's first design museum. The building was built by renowned architect Kengo Kuma, and really is an impressive sight to see.

The tour will run along the River Tay towards Magdalen Green, another large park, where you can have your picture taken in the famous bandstand.

There will be a slight climb from the waterfront to Perth Road. Situated in Dundee's West End, this lovely street is bustling with cafes, restaurants and shops. We will pass through Dundee University from here, one of the top UK universities.

The tour will then head back to the city centre, taking you through Albert Square, and past some of our other famous buildings, where you will learn about some famous Dundonians, and the part they have played in history.

Along the tour, there will be stops to tell stories and look around. Your guide will take photos for you, which will be edited and provided after the tour. The tours are designed to be fun, and suitable for all abilities. So long as you can run the distance, you will be able to take part.
