See this unspoiled 18th century small harbour on the East Cornwall coast which was the Poldark location for Truro Harbour. Here you will see a number of square rigged sailing ships. Charlestown is famous for its collection of tall ships and has been a location manager’s dream as it has been used for numerous other films and tv shows for many years, including Horn Blower, Dr Who, Alice in Wonderland, Taboo and The Eagle has Landed to name a few

Truro is Cornwall’s only city where you can visit the cathedral and experience the cobbled streets and boutique shops. Truro was the inspiration for the Winston Graham Poldark novels. This is a truly charming and wonderful place to visit.

Botalick Mines were heavily featured as Wheal Leisure, Wheal Grace and Wheal Grambler mines in the Poldark series. This World Heritage site is a centre piece of Cornwall’s mining history and offers many coastal clifftop views.
