Farmstay Blind Tasting Workshop

The experiences that we offer represents an alternative approach to tasting wine and learning about the overall understanding of how to describe wine. Expand your knowledge of the wine industry and learn how to taste wine like the Sommeliers of the world! This experience is intended for amateur wine drinker but is open to all lovers of wine education!

Itinerary

After you arrive at the Zo Wines Estate, Tyler will welcome you to the Tasting Lounge or space. You will receive a brief history of the nearby vineyards, winery & Farmstay! There will be a series of black wine glasses & educational varietal (wine grapes) cards on the table in front of each guest. The host will instruct each guest to read the cards and get familiar with the varietals given. The host will then instruct the guests to smell the first wine and write down their tasting notes and descriptors on the card provided. There will be a list of descriptors available for the guests if they need suggestions or examples. The guest will then taste the wine and will also write down their interpretation of the wines tasting notes. After the guests have decided on which varietal they think the wine is, they simply place their glass on the card representing the grape varietal. Then the guests pour the contents of their glass into the standard wine glass revealing the color of the wine. (Red, white, etc) The host then tells the guests what the varietal is and explains the grape in further detail; history, place of origin, pairings, etc.
