Full-Day Upper Klamath Rafting Trip

See big waves, dramatic drops, and spectacular scenery with your small group on this full-day rafting trip. The journey covers 14 miles of the Upper Klamath River, with Class IV+ rapids and continuous Class IV whitewater framed by spectacular scenery and history-rich lands.

The tour includes transport to and from Ashland, breakfast, lunch, and rafting equipment, and requires a full day of paddling so is best suited to participants in good physical health.

The Full-day rafting trip meets at 8:00 am at Indigo Creek Outfitters. The tour begins with breakfast in Ashland before departing for the Upper Klamath River where lunch is also provided.

Paddle along a meandering swath of the Klamath, through canyons and Class II and III rapids before getting to the first large rapid of the day: Caldera. This is where the nature of the run changes dramatically and goes from a tame river to an impressive stretch of continuous class IV whitewater punctuated by a few noticeable class IV+ drops. From Caldera to Stateline Falls, the whitewater is non-stop, insuring an exciting day out on the river.

Beyond adventure, the Upper Klamath rafting trip provides a glimpse back to the history of western territorial exploration and settlement. Learn about Native American sites, pioneer settlements, gold rush exploration, and the efforts that thwarted development in order to preserve the scenic area.

Your guides can tailor the tour to suit the interests of your small group, whether that means focusing on whitewater, going for swims, looking for native birds, simply relaxing, or a combination of all the above.

Due to the active nature of this run, tour participants should be in good physical shape and ready for a full day of paddling. The tour includes any paddling gear you need for the day (wetsuits, splash jackets, booties, lifejackets, and helmets) and returns to Ashland around 5:00 pm.
