Based in the Pacific Northwest, Expedition Old Growth provides tours of the region’s beautiful forests while assisting adventure-seekers with their guided ascent to the upper most canopies of the majestically ancient trees. Along the way, we create a greater appreciation for the living habitat and unique flora thriving at the forest floor and up into the tree-tops.

The greatest appreciation for anything in life is developed by experience. At the center of operations is a commitment to a no trace policy, non-invasive methods to ascend the trees and our very best efforts to leave the path and trees exactly as we found them. Though the absolute climax of the tour is the view from the canopy, our tours leave a lasting impression and heightened sensitivity for our old-growth forests and environment; an experience, we hope, that will carry on for a lifetime.

Itinerary

Our version is simply that participants can select from two options, Level 1 or Level 2, based on their experience with climbing. No experience is needed for either option; however, Level 2 requires participants to learn the basics of the ropes system to pull themselves up the tree. Level 1 is essentially an "elevator" ride up into the canopy. Level 3 allows for an overnight stay up in the tree canopy. Several options and locations are available depending on your desired adventure and capabilities. We offer simple climbs in local school and city parks and more extensive expeditions to the depths of the mountainous forests.
