Built-in the shadow of the Manhattan Bridge to the right and the Brooklyn Bridge to the left, this park features some striking views of the East River and the Manhattan skyline.

This 100-year-old wooden merry-go-round is nearly 400 miles away from its birthplace. Originally housed in Ohio, the carousel was nearly broken apart and sold one horse at a time.

Cadman Plaza has a statue on the northern end, which we’re not going to walk to today. The statue commemorates William Jay Gaynor, a former mayor of New York.
