Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi - Thac Ba

Stop At: Thac Ba Lake, Yen Binh District, Yen Bai 320000 Vietnam
In the morning, transfer to Thac Ba Lake which is a stunning artificial site surrounded by houses of the ethnic minorities. It is the shelter of the White Dao, Red Dao, Nung, Tay, and H’mong. In particular, you will meet the White Dao people who dress the white pants.
Getting to the ethnic villages, you will check in your homestay. Then, begin a short trek through the pristine setting, breathe the pure air, and relish the untamed nature. Return to the homestay address to have dinner. Chat and have a meal together.

Day 2: Thac Ba - Muong Lo (Nghia Lo) (B)

Stop At: Nghia Lo, Nghia Lo, Yen Bai Province
The second day tour will take you to Thac Ba Lake and Nghia Lo. In an area of 23,400 hectares, Thac Ba Lake consists of 1,331 islands and hills for the abundant ecosystem. Today, you will get started with a morning boat tour to reach the lake. Soak yourself in the transparent and cool water for the refreshing moments.
Leave the homestay for the next drive to Muong Lo and the Nghi Lo Town where owns the second biggest rice fields in the northwest of Vietnam, and is home to the Thai ethnic group. Historically, around 700 years ago, the Thai ethnic communities inhabited in this region to plant rice and construct their traditional wooden houses from bamboo and iron.
Arriving at the Thai village, you will start the 2-hour trek through the local setting to feel the ethnic culture and daily life activities.

Day 3: Muong Lo - Tu Le (B)

Stop At: Tu Le, Tu Le, Yen Bai Province
Start with a morning departure by bus toward the Hoang Lien Son mountain ranges and the terraced rice fields. The 1-hour drive will stop for you to enjoy hiking through the gorgeous landscape. Your camera cannot stand still because there will be many flattering photography opportunities to make you a real photographer. The 5-hour light trekking trail will take you to villages of the Thai and H’mong ethnic communities who dress their traditional colorful costumes and welcome guests. As a culture tourist, you will be happy to discover that the local traditions, lifestyle, and customs are well-preserved. Mingle with them and have sociable memories.

Day 4: Tu Le - Mu Cang Chai (B)

Stop At: Mu Cang Chai, Mu Cang Chai, Yen Bai Province
This morning, the bus will you take you to the scenic roads filled with the spectacular mountain views. Enjoy a short rest in Nga Ba Kim. After the 1-hour drive, you will arrive at the villages of the Thai and H’mong ethnic communities. The pristine setting will be ideal for trekking through the picturesque sceneries filled with the terraced rice fields, clouds, mountains, and stilted houses. The 5-hour to 6-hour trekking will be highly rewarding when you discover a serene haven to unwind. And, in the ethnic minority villages, you will be much welcomed by the villagers who wear brightly colored costumes and give the warm smiles to guests. There will be chances to see the H’mong women weaving the thread into cloth by their looms, and the local kids playing simple games.

Day 5: Mu Cang Chai - Sapa - Ta Van (B)

Stop At: Sapa, Sapa, Lao Cai Province
Be ready for the 2-hour drive ascending the Tram Ton Pass, which is the highest pass in Vietnam, with the elevation of 2.047 meters. The bus will stop at some flattering corners for you to photograph and breathe the pure air in the high spot. From this pass, spread the eyes further to see the legendary Fansipan Mountain, which is also called “The Roof of Indochina” with a height of 3.143 meters.
Around noon, you will arrive at Sapa and have time to discover the local highlights namely ethnic markets, Sapa old town, French-colonial buildings, and more. Have lunch, and then venture out for the light trek toward the serene Ta Van Village which has been harmoniously inhabited by the H’mong, Dzao, and Dzay ethnic minorities. The trek will take around 3 – 4 hours, which is long but easy and smooth.
Sleep at a Giay ethnic homestay

Day 6: Sapa - Lao Cai - Hanoi (B)

Stop At: Sapa, Sapa, Lao Cai Province
Today itinerary will draw your attention to Giang Ta Chai Village, home to the Red Dzao ethnic minority. To reach this ethnic site, it will require a downhill trek featured with the pristine conditions and stunning views. The trek will stop in the pick-up point where the bus is there to transfer you to Lao Cai Train Station. And, before reaching the Station, you will have a nice time in Ma Tra Village and meet the Black H’mong tribe. Then, get on bus back to Hanoi. Tour concluded
