Copperfield Remembered is a picture-history with descriptions of part of Bingham Canyon, Utah, and the world-famous Utah Copper open-pit copper mine. The site of the first recorded mining claim in the State of Utah is pictured and described. All the sections of the town of Upper Bingham are shown. The Utah Copper mine from its inception in 1906 with steam engines and steam shovels to the first electric-powered locomotives and shovels to the gigantic diesel haulage trucks and whirly shovels with enormous dippers--all are pictured. Human interest stories are presented--they include boys showering in arsenic-laden water and school children going home through the underground mine workings. The author's adventures while growing up on the edge of the huge open-pit mine and roaming the surrounding mountains are also recounted.
