Gun Control Group Wants Firearm Ban Extended..
A gun control group, pointing to a recent court ruling upholding the University of Utah's firearm ban, wants the Legislature to reconsider a measure that allows concealed weapons on K-12 school grounds.
|
Lawmakers that winter passed legislation allowing concealed firearms license or permit holders to bring weapons to the school campuses. A state judge ruled the University of Utah can now enforce its fireams ban on guns on campus.

Hunters Given Handgun Option..
Illinois Deer hunters will have the option of using handguns during the firearm season under a new law supported by State Rep. The new firearms option was signed by the governor.

With the new federal fireams license law, hunters will be able to choose which firearm they use during deer season. Hunters will no longer face the restrictions on firearm use that they did under the previous gun laws.

Proper Firearm Holsters and Packs..
Avoid ankle holsters, shoulder holsters and other types of holsters which can introduce unnecessary delays in accessing a defensive firearm.

Avoid carrying a defensive firearm in a purse, pocketbook, daypack or briefcase. A firearm carried in that fashion is typically hard to rapidly access due to the presence of slow-to-open zippers, multiple latches, etc.

Treat every firearm as if it were loaded. Never pass a firearm to another person, or accept a firearm from another person, until the cylinder or action is open and you've personally checked that the weapon is completely unloaded.

Before handling any firearm, understand its operation. Never rely on any mechanical device for safety. Think before shooting: once you pull the trigger you can't take back the shot you've just fired!
