Millions of Men who Work From Home

TIME Magazine cited that 59 percent of people who are taking action with their home business ideas are men. Ease, comfort, freedom and more time with children is the idea. But is this new work at home dream REAL? Isn't it time we know whether these men's lives are really better or even different?



According to a random IKEA survey of 100 fathers:

• Children with dads that have home businesses are twice as likely to get A's on their report cards, while 38 percent of children whose fathers work in a traditional office bring home B's.



• Please honey, get back to work...I'm pooped! Twenty-five percent of men who work at home claim to have sex everyday with their spouse compared to 18 percent working in a traditional office.


"Real Men" can type, play with the kids and don't drink. When going for drinks with the boys, be careful about wanting to pick up the tab. Thirty-two percent of fathers working in a traditional offices admit to having more than eight drinks a week versus 13 percent of fathers who work at home.

"More Companies are arranging home business ideas for their staff to work at home and the surge in home base business is tremendous," said Marty Marston, public relations manager of IKEA North America.


• Yankees' Tino Martinez may have some competition--50 percent of home business dads play baseball with their kids. Twenty-one percent of fathers that work away from the home prefer to play video games with their children.




Is "he" a lover or a couch potato?

Men who work in traditional offices are six times more likely to watch more than 20 hours of television a week instead of making "whoopie.":


• Work at home dads picked education and school safety as the issues they're most concerned about for the upcoming election versus traditional office fathers picking economy as most important.



• A "good man" is not hard to find--75 percent of home based working dads tuck in their children every single night and nearly 50 percent of these fathers are more likely to cook a family meal.
