Peaks Of the Balkan 12-Day Tour

We are offering you a wonderful tour through the Balkans: The winner of the WTTC Tourism for Tomorrow Award. This is a tour through unattainable places where you can realize the real grandeur of the mountains and their jagged peaks. During your journey you will have the opportunity not only to hike and trek, but also to discover totally unknown lands, isolated from the rest of the world preserving their natural beauty, the ancient culture and traditions of their inhabitants untouched. This is not only a tour: this is a discovery, a challenge, a new breath-taking experience. Enjoy it.

Day 1: Shkodra

Pick up at the airport and drive to Shkodra. Short city tour, dinner and accommodation in a hotel.

Day 2: Cemi valley

Drive along the Cem valley following the winding road, up to Selca. Hike up to the Sllapi waterfall and after lunch, drive to Lëpushë. Accommodation in a guesthouse. (3h, Ascent/Descent 450m)

Day 3: Trojani peak

Hike to Trojani Pass and from there on a steeper path up to the peak. Descent on the same trail to the guesthouse. (6h, Ascent/Descent 1000m)

Day 4: Trekking up to "Buni i Jezercës"

Drive to Vermosh and from there, through the towns of Guci and Vuthaj, we will travel to an area called Zastan where our hike will start. The trail runs through the woods, gradually gaining altitude, up to Buni i Jezercës where six glacial lakes lie. Accommodation in tents (3h, Ascent 500m, Descent 100m)

Day 5: Arapi mountain and Theth

Hike in the southwestern direction to the Jezerca Pass, then through the field of Runica, to the Peçakeqi glacial lake and up to the Arapi summit. Ascent to Peja Pass, and from there to Thethi. Accommodation in a guesthouse. (9h, Ascent 800m, Descent 1900m)

Day 6: Theth

Visit of the village and walk to the 30m high Grunas canyon. Then walk along the river up to the "Blue Eye of Kapre", a natural pool with amazingly blue water. On the way back, we will visit the mill. (6h, Ascend/Descend 450m)

Day 7: Valbona Pass

Ascent up to the Valbona Pass at 1812m and from there descent towards Valbonë. Accommodation in a guest house. (7h, Ascend 1070m Descend 800m)

Day 8:Local life in the surroundings of Valbona.

Hike towards the hanging glacial valley of Kukaj. The path follows the valley to a mountain hut, where we will be offered a coffee from the local shepherds. (4h, Ascend/Descend 750m)

Day 9: Hike to Dobërdol

Transfer to Çerem and from there, hike up to the Gashi Valley. Then we follow the ascending path up to the Dobërdol plateau with its glacial lakes. Overnight stay in tents. (7h, Ascend 1025m, Descend 750m)

Day 10: Gjeravica

Hike through the meadows of Dobërdol and then on the ridge up to the Gjeravica Mountain. Descend to gropa e Erenikut and drive to Gjakova. (6h, Ascend 1100m, Descend 1230m)

Day 11: Gjakova and the Koman lake

Visit the Bazaar of Gjakova. After that, we will ride the ferry across Lake Koman allows you to see some spectacular scenery, not unlike a Norwegian fjord winding its way between high cliffs and towering peaks. We will leave the ferry in Koman, from where the trip will continue by car to Tirana.

Day 12: Tirana

We will visit the Ethem Bey Mosque, Skanderbeg monument and National Historical Museum. A la carte dinner at a traditional restaurant.

Day 13: Transfer to airport
